Extract of sample "Foreign Students in the US Labor Market"

The students often come from a market, which is underdeveloped as compared to that of the US or other advanced nations. Due to this reason, these students face ruthless competition from local professionals of a developed country. Therefore, they cannot find jobs according to their qualification and end up underemployed at best.

At the same time, multinational corporations face difficulty in retaining their foreign employees, due to the strictness of immigration laws in the US, which are designed to minimize the threat of terrorism.

In the light of the above literature, it is suggested to establish a dedicated office on the campus of UMD that should help foreign students in their job seeking. Along with this, it must also arrange cultural and inter-lingual training for these international students, so that they can fit in the organizational culture of America. However, adjusting to foreigners in the US workforce is a long-term commitment. Nevertheless, I believe the commencement of the international students’ affairs office at UMD is the maiden step towards attaining foreign students’ professional betterment and assimilation into American society.
