Dreams can be helpful in problem-solving; an individual might have a problem in his mind and might have several solutions to that problem. Dreams help an individual in realizing the best solution out of the various solutions that are already registered in an individual’s mind.

Several researchers have figured out different purposes of dreams, Freud states that the main purpose of dreams was the preservation of sleep and he was of the idea that what individuals experience in dreams are driven through the wishes that an individual’s want fulfill and he even stated that dreams are a reflection of the dreamer’s wishes that are unconscious in nature (Domhoff 159). He asserted that there are two kinds of dreams, the first kind is the latest ones which are the fantasies of an individual that he wants to fulfill and the second are the manifest ones that have no meaning at all. On the other hand, Jung asserted that the dreams act as messages to the dreamer and an individual should operate in compliance with his/her dreams (Domhoff 159).
