Extract of sample "The Time Spent in School"

It was my first day of school, and I felt different, upset, and excited all at the same time. The first thing I did was to sit close to the door and I did not feel like talking to anyone. I felt abandoned before the teacher approached me and told me not to be anxious or fearful, and to freely play with the other kids. Eventually, I started playing with them and began to feel comfortable in doing so. For some reason, I have trusted that teacher ever since that moment, and I have not felt upset nor abandoned since then.

The next day was the most exciting day in school since it was the day when all the kids brought their toys and played together. That is when I met my best friend, his name was Hamdan. It was a pleasant surprise to see that he had the same toy that I had, and we started playing with each other. From that day till the day we graduated, we have remained best friends. Through him, I have learned more profoundly the meaning of sharing, friendship, and honesty. More than being a friend, I have found a brother in him.

He was with me during good times and in adversity.
