The Best Moment in my Life Sometimes I think that it is amazing that while we look for companionship and friendship, outside the confines of our home, our best sources of support and joy are placed by providence right at the place we live and love. At least it happened to me. I could confidently say that my best moment in my life was when I realized that I have the best sister in the world. My sister Fatimah is 25 years old and we are more of friends than merely being siblings. Most of my life, a majority of the much meaningful moments in my life had been either directly or indirectly associated with Fatimah. Fatimah means a lot to me. Fatimah is my best friend and whenever I feel lonely or alone, she turns out to be a constant source of companionship. Though I prefer solitude over socializing, still I must say that I never like to be alone. Fatimah has a beautiful way of making me feel loved and cherished. I feel really wonderful and happy, whenever I am with her. She always makes me feel that somebody is there for me, who will stand by me whenever I am stressed and lonely. Both of us share fond memories of the experiences we had while we were travelling in Lebanon, the country where she was studying for her degree. Fatimah is a biologist. She graduated from the American University of Beirut (AUB). There is no denying the fact that Fatimah happens to be one big influence on my social skills and interpersonal communication. Having a stable relationship with my sister and being able to convey to her all that I think or feel has made me an independent and confident person. I feel really easy to open up with others while I am moving in the outside world. It was owing to Fatimah that a lot many things turned out to be better and beneficial for me. It had been solely owing to Fatimah that I had been able to get over my juvenile hesitations and have learned to open up with other people. The biggest delight that Fatimah holds for me is the opportunity I get to share my ideas with her. I have many dreams and goals, and Fatimah has always encouraged me in whatever endeavor I engage in by extending her true and honest opinion. I share such a sense of camaraderie with Fatimah that even during our childhood, we used to dress up alike. I must say that both of us share a salubrious and benign relationship with each other. I am always there, whenever Fatimah needs me and she receives my help and advice not only as a brother, but also as a worthy an imitable role model. We both harbor much ambition in our hearts. Besides, both of us love our family a lot and do our best to make our family happy, especially our parents. I do believe that good ideas are of no use if they are not put into practical action. So Fatimah always diligently encourages me to weave goals and aspirations around the good ideas that I share with her. This brings in a kind of accountability into my life and always stimulates me to work to the best of my capacity. Besides, I do know that Fatimah is always there to help me sort out the problems that I come across in my academic life. I must say that Fatimah’s English is real good. She helped me a lot while I was in the English School. I was able to pass the varied English School levels and achieve a really good IELTS Score in a short span of seven months, all owing to Fatimah’s help and guidance. I am really fluent in Arabic. Besides, I also write poetry and everybody likes my poetry, including my Arabic teachers. I distinctly remember that the first poem that I wrote, it was about my sister Fatimah. It was only owing to the help extended by Fatimah that now I am able to enjoy the beauty and charm inherent in words. Since our early childhood, Fatimah and I had been really comfortable sharing our stuff with each other. We never had a problem lending our things to each other. The more interesting thing is that both of us never felt hesitant to borrow things from each other. This sense of sharing helped us build a bond of trust and friendship with each other. In retrospect I think that all our lives we had been able to freely share our material possessions with each other owing to a strong sense of accountability inherent in our relationship. Many a times Fatimah shared even those things with me, which mattered a lot to her. She did so not because she had to, but because she liked to do so. Fatimah and I have many common friends. In a way Fatimah has helped me extend and expand my world by introducing many new friends to me. Besides, it was Fatimah that taught me that in friendship, it is not the numbers that matter, but rather the intensity and depth of the bonds we have with our friends. I must say that I do give apt importance and respect to Fatimah’s opinion regarding my social interactions and the friends I make. Over time I have realized that Fatimah is a really smart and worldly wise person. Conclusively speaking, I am quite confident that I owe much of my happiness, success and learning to Fatimah’s favorable influence on my personality. She is a great sources of inspiration for me, and on her side she always takes care to extend due consideration to the advice and insights that I offer her. It was primarily owing to the encouragement facilitated by Fatimah that I had been able to muster the courage to face some of the toughest challenges in my life. So, I have no doubt that the best moment in my life was when I realized that I have the best sister in the world. Read More
