Using Alternative Fuels and Automobile Technologies to Reduce Reliance on Fossil Fuel USA is relying heavily onfossil fuels which emit poisonous gases and pollute the environment. This has resulted in greenhouse effect and climate change. It also causes increased oil prices and destruction of habitats and water lives. The proposed law focuses on the reduction of reliance on Fossil Fuels and the increase in renewable energy usage. The main way of reducing dependency on fossil fuels is to change the technologies used to manufacture automobiles and the fuel used at home and on the road (EconomyWatch, 2010).

This includes turning to renewable sources of energy such as biogas, solar energy, wood and biomass energy. The law should place sanctions on automobile manufacturers to manufacture their automobiles using green technologies so that the vehicles do not emit gases that can poison the environment. For instance, electric batteries should be approved by law as the key batteries to be used in cars. Since this is not the only way to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, the law should also require local leaders to encourage citizens to use alternative fuels at home.

The law should also allow the government to offer rewards to citizens who turn to renewable sources of energy at home by offering them subsidies on the renewable sources such as solar energy, Biomass and Biogas (Natural Resources Defense Council, 2014). Renewable sources of energy should be subsidized to make them very cheap and be used by almost every home.Works citedEconomyWatch. Reducing Dependency on Fossil Fuels. 2009.
