The paper "Gender Diversity in Leadership on Corporate Boards and Banking Risk-Taking" is a perfect example of a finance and accounting capstone project. The aim of this study is to empirically investigate the effect of executive gender diversity on corporate boards on risk management. This is to be done through secondary data analysis, where particular emphasis is placed on content analysis. This study is projected around three major research questions which are (1) what diversities exist in leadership within the banking sector? (2) How does diversity affect risk management within the banks? (3) How do male and female managers differ in their leadership behaviour and in what ways do the differences affect the management of risk within their banks?

To address these questions, the researcher collect will collect data on the styles of banking management and how such managers make decisions on risks theoretically. The influence of gender on banking management and risk-taking behaviour will also be identified. Various types of banking risks will also be notified. With these in mind, the study will go on to ascertain existing gender diversities on corporate management of these institutions and the effect of that diversity on risk-taking as measured by performance indicators such as economic growth or crisis.

This will enable the researcher to find out how the differences between male and female managers’ leadership behaviour affect the management of risk within banks. A clear methodological approach is needed for clarity of focus. This chapter presents the hypothesis definition, model outline, data and variable definition, and inferential methods employed. The overall procedure to the method was based on finding how other researchers collected data and constructed variables related to the study.

The advantages and disadvantages of their methods and how these could be modified for the current study are identified in the chapter. Even though the study is conducted as secondary data research, the researcher used quantitative methods where the manifest approach to content analysis is employed. The methodology is largely divided into three questions based on the themes used in the literature review. This is done to connect the entire study together in a well-related manner.
