Kinsey estimated that nearly 46% of the male population had engaged in both heterosexual and homosexual activities. But only 11% of females reported that they had homosexual experiences. Obviously, these have drastically changed in the modern era.
One of the normal findings of this report was the traditional sexual norms that were also addressed. In essence, most men and women enjoyed having sex with the missionary position and foreplay. This is due to the fact that media and literature had to play an important role influencing sex. As a matter of fact, the Kinsey interviews showed that there is no part of the human body which is not sufficiently sensitive to effect erotic arousal for at least some individuals in the population. Kinsey also estimated that breasts and especially the nipples of the breasts were erogenous zones. The sexual findings confirmed that most couples enjoyed sex as portrayed in media. Most couples considered sex outside of marriage as immoral and perceived it as fulfillment of sexual desires. Kinsey’s ethics however dictate that a sexual union is needed merely for self-preservation and procreation. His theory is based on a categorical imperative, which regards it as something necessary with some association to pleasure.
