These were retro genesis simply because they were not the reality in Alice present life by then. Questions 2: Comment On Alice’s Family’s Reaction to Her Memory Loss Alice’s act of forgetting was spontaneous and she was not to be blamed. The entire situation is very surreal because Alice had no idea just how she acquired the problem in the first place.

The mother was the first to witness Alice’s memory loss, but, she did to particularly sense it. When the father was called, he did to react immediately, he postponed his coming to the next weekend, and hence, the family did not take Alice’s memory loss very seriously during the initial stages. They later responded appropriately. Alice’s Suicidal thought is a normal reaction associated with those suffering from memory loss and all other related problems and conditions (dementia). Alice had merely lost hope in life, she was not able to apprehend the next step in life and suicidal thoughts were more likely to come in her mind. However, her naivety could not allow her to think and plan on its effective execution.

Questions 5: Interesting Aspects of this Book This book helped to bring the understand and experience of people with dementia, through highlighting extreme problems associated with dementia, giving hope for treating it, and also highlights some ways of handling this condition. First, in page 25, there is a list of problems associated with dementia: “…dizziness, irregular heartbeat, depression, irritability, mood swings, disorientation, mental confusion, memory lapses…” (Lisa p 25). Second, this book also gives hope to those affected, by explaining the fact that with earlier detection it can be cured: “…memory and cognition problems are depressed or stressed or menopausal.

The earlier we are properly diagnosed, the earlier we can go on medication, with the hope of …”(Lisa p 252). Lastly, the hope that Alice expressed when she said, “…maintaining a footing on a plateau long enough to reap the benefits of a better treatment or cure soon. I still have hope for a cure, for me, for my friends with dementia…” (Lisa p 253). Questions 6: Comment/Reaction to the Book At the start of the book Alice forgot, this is when Alice on the floor at the gym, she was encircled by odd individuals who were questioning her on all sorts of meaningless questions.
