Amphetamines have the ability to increase attention and alertness for a short term period. The abuse of Amphetamines may feel confidence and energy for a short term period. However, in the long term, it may cause severe mental problems such as depression, anxiety, restlessness, hallucinations etc. “Taking large amounts of amphetamines, especially over a short space of time, can lead to marked psychological problems, especially a sense of panic and paranoia and extreme exhaustion”. As in the case of many other psychoactive drugs, cocaine also has the ability to make a person energetic and confident for a short period of time.
