Application essay: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery I have always had a strong passion in studying a medical field that is unique and diverse. Of particular significance, it has been my desire to help relieve people from painful problems and complexities related to the head and mouth. After carrying out some extensive study, I discovered that my interest is being directed to studying Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In my research, I discovered that Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a very diverse and interesting field of medicine.

Since it deals with fixing various problems that occur on the face, mouth and head, I realized that the program is very diverse and interesting, and within it resides my dream career.Another compulsion to study Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery relates to its comprehensive engagement with the patient. I have always had interest in a career that will engage my thinking and performance in a higher level. In this case, the program would engage me comprehensively with detailed analysis and surgery. I often appreciate working in a challenging environment that subjects me to thinking and evaluation.

In my view, the fact that this program is complex and challenging will help me to gain confidence and ability to handle diverse difficult situations in health practice.The diversity of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in terms of work environments is another reason that has prompted me to choose on studying this course is its. After doing my survey concerning this program, I discovered that it will give me a chance of working in several environments including hospitals (particularly in emergency rooms); dentists’ centers (also in the emergency departments) or even set up my own clinic.

As I noted earlier, I often like working in a challenging environment that will trigger my thinking and subject me to higher levels of performance. I discovered that Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires someone to undergo an extensive education program with a challenging curriculum. To me, this in line with my dreams of engaging in extensive research and learning that will equip me with desirable skills in the health sciences practice. My dream and wish is not to become just an ordinary doctor, instead I purpose to specialize in this field, which is very unique.

In addition to a challenging curriculum and an extensive education program, this course has a residency program, which would help me to engage in hands-on practice in surgery. This program is interesting and paramount to me as it would challenge my accuracy and competency.Another reason that propels me to pursue this program is its marketability and demand. I realize that the aging population has a high demand for surgery, especially Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Since the practice derives some of its specifications from the general dentists, it has good prospects.

It is a practice that will not fade in the near future but will continue to be of great importance to many people. This means that I will have ample time to serve the community and even to learn more in my career, not to mention the various opportunities for advancements therein, which has been my desire.I have a strong will to undertake the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program and it is one of my major desires in life, which I believe, in conjunction with the efforts and determination that I intend to put in my studies, will motivate me to excel.

One of my major goals in life is becoming a great and experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon and hence I believe that having a chance to study Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery will open a door for me to fulfill most of my life goals. I trust that you will consider my application and give me a chance to pursue my most favorite program that will usher me in to the career of my dream. It is a lifetime chance that I would not like to loose since I have the opportunity and the relevant education requirements.
