What is the prime reason behind it? The main reason for which the level of awareness towards health and safety enhanced, is the increased death rate due to varied types of disorders such as hypertension, rotavirus and many more. However, in order to get rid from all these sort of disorders mentioned above, health and social care services is extremely essential. These services help to develop a disorders free nation but effective heath ad safety also needs to be maintained within these service care organizations. If effective care is not maintained within the health care services, then the staffs may not remain healthy and disorder free to present efficient facilities to all others individual of the nation. But, in order to maintain effective care, proper implementation of rules, policies and guidelines of Health & Safety at Work Act of 1974 is extremely essential. This might prove effective for the organizations offering proper health and social care services in reducing all sorts of disorders and injuries among the staffs in an efficient way so as to reduce its harmful impacts. Moreover, implementation of Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations act (RIDDOR) of 1995 also helps to improve the health of the staffs by detecting the injuries and diseases. This might help to reduce the intensity of occurrences of dangerous incidents in future life (Almgren, 2013, 213-223). Similarly, the implementation of another effective act such as Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) of 2002 might also prove extremely worthy for the organizations offering proper health and social care services. Furthermore, introduction of Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations act of 1981 might also prove effective in enhancing health and safety priorities such as use of perfect equipments, materials, behaviours etc. However, if all these above mentioned regulations in an effective way then, the staffs of health and social care service organizations such as clinics, hospitals nursing homes, day centres etc might surely get improved. Thus, due to the implementation all these regulations, the level of care and consciousness over the health and well-being of the staffs of the health and social care organizations might get enhanced to a significant extent (Booyens, 2008, 332-334). This might prove effective for them in long run that may amplify the position and dominance of the health providing organizations in the market among others. 2.2 Analyse the impact of one aspect of health and safety policy on health and social care practice and its customers Sustainability is the prime requirement of any organization, operating in any segment. The prime cause is to amplify its brand image and market share. Another similar case is the scenario with the organizations functioning under health and social care services. Therefore, more numbers of the health and social care service providers desire to offer more attention over the concept of ethical and hygienic practices to its patients (Harris, 2006, 112-120). For example, offering sterilized and disposable syringes for each of the patients so as to maintain hygiene and cleanliness. So that, any sort of harmful disorder such as HIV or AIDS may not get transferred within the body of patient B from patient A due to the use of same syringe. Then, by performing such an unethical act might hamper the life as well as the brand value and goodwill of the organization in the market. Moreover, the health and social care service providers might also try to offer effective services instantly so as to reduce the risks from the life of the individual. Instant medicinal facilities might help to save the life of a patient that may increase the reputation and dominance of the health care provider to a considerable rate. But, if delay takes place in offering such services, then it might present negative impacts thereby declining the brand value and reputation in the market (Brown, 1992, 192-219). Therefore, due to these causes, most of the health and social care providers offers more attention towards these concepts and issues. 2.3 Discuss one dilemma encountered in relation to implementing systems and policies for health, safety and security Improper presentation of medical drugs by the health and social care service providers is not a common incident. Such type of misleading as well as unethical activities is commonly viewed within the health care service providers. For example: one of the most dominant and reputed health care organizations of Britain, National Health Services (NHS) delayed in offering effective medication facilities such as medicinal drugs as well as other medical facilities to the patients suffering from the disorder of rheumatic arthritis, HIV and cystic fibrosis. This activity of NHS hindered the reliability and trust of the patients on the brand that declined its image and popularity in the market of Britain among many other rival players. Moreover, due to such unethical practices, the competitiveness and demand of the health and social care organization of NHS declined significantly that increased the rate of switchover costs of the patients to certain other brands (Tran, 2014). However, switchover costs also declined the profitability and equity of the organization of NHS in Britain. 2.4 Analyse the effects of non-compliance with health and safety legislation in health and social care workplaces The image and dependency of the health and social care service providers is mainly due to their effective and timely facilities. However, due to such facilities, a wide range of ailing patients get cured from numerous harmful disorders such as cystic fibrosis, hypertension, rotavirus, HIV etc. But, if any sort of delay or negligence occurs by these heath care providers, then the inner confidence and trust of the patients reduces significantly. Moreover, because of non-compliance of the rules and regulations of health and safety acts, the range of customers recues that hinders the position and market share of the organization (Perry, 2009, 612-623). In addition to lack of customer base, the profitability and productivity of the organization, operating in health and social care services reduces day by day among others. Task 3 3.1 How health and safety policies and practices are monitored and reviewed? In order to improve the prosperity and competitiveness of an organization dealing in health and social care services, is to offer highest concentration over the rules and regulations of health and safety act. The prime reason is that, if the rule and regulations are followed efficiently, then the health care organization might become successful in offering best services to its patients. Moreover, the organization might also become effective in offering best sort of medicinal services at actual time period. This strategy might prove extremely worthy for the organization that may amplify the reliability from the customers. However, due to improvement of the inner trust, their level preferences and likings over the brand might get enhanced among other rival players. In addition, due to proper presentation of health and medicinal services to its patients, an efficient bonding or relationship takes place (Muller, & et. al. 2006, 312-323). Such type of bonding acts as a catalyst for the health and social care service providers resulting in amplification of its loyalty and uniqueness among many other rival contenders. Moreover, due to the development of strong bonds among the customers and healthcare managements, varied types of positive feedbacks might be presented. These feedbacks might help in fascinating numerous other new customers that may amplify the profit margin and total revenue of the organization. Thus, it might be clearly stated that the effectiveness of health and safety policies and regulations might be monitored and evaluated, through the feedbacks offered by the customers and range of new customers within a specific time period like 6 months (Williams & Torrens, 2007, 412-447). 3.2 Analyse the effectiveness of health and safety policies and practices in the work place in promoting a positive health and safe culture In order to maintain a positive health and safe culture within a health and social care service providing organization, is with the help of presenting high concentration over the rules and guidelines of health and safety act. As per this act, the health care organizations might offer best type of services to its patients, as it is their moral duty. However, if such type of duties is not followed by the health and social care organizations, then it may not retain its position and image in this competitive market among many other rival players (Healthy working lives. 2014). Moreover, due to non-compliance of the duties and regulations, the level of reliability and trust of the customers over the brand decrease to a considerable extent. Furthermore, if the levels of services are not offered in perfect timings, then the customers may desire to switchover to any other brands. This might decline the portfolio and brand value of the organization that may decrease its reputation (Wolper, 2004, 512-523). Due to lack of strong customer base, the health and social care service provider might be engulfed by any other new entrants. Thus, in order to retain the aggressiveness of the heath care service provider, efficient as well as timely presentation of services is considered as its two prime aspects. But, in order to attain such a reputed image within the segment of healthcare services, effective interpersonal communication and joint or coordinated efforts among the staffs is extremely vital. Then, a proper culture might be implemented within an organization so as to offer effective medicinal services to the patients. 3.3 Evaluate own contributions of placing the health and safety needs of the customers at centre practice In order to enhance the profitability and total customer base, it is extremely essential to offer high attention over the needs and demand of the patients. As patients act as the prime requirement of a healthcare service provider and so proper presentation of services is necessary in order to satisfy their inner ideas and motives as per Gibbs reflective cycle. According to Gibbs reflective cycle, it consists of six stages that help to evaluate the learning expertises of an individual by himself. In the initial stage, the actual scenario or a specific situation (delayed medicinal facility of NHS) is analysed and the feelings that aroused within the mind of the staffs. Then, among those feelings, the good and worse experiences and learning are evaluated so as to analyse its outcomes. However, after evaluating the final outcomes, the reverse outcomes are analysed (Kronenfeld, 2002, 267-312). Besides analysing the reverse outcomes, an action plan is developed that may be used to mitigate the above mentioned specific problematic situation of NHS, if aroused again in future. Thus, this cycle might prove effective for the health and social care service provider like NHS to amplify its brand image and loyalty by offering efficient services to its patients.
