This phenomenon is largely visible within the population of the UK and is even noted to be affecting people over the age of 20 years. In this present-day context, it can be observed that the lifestyle of the people has changed extensively as compared to the previous years (Hojat, Louis, Markham, Wender, Rabinowitz, & Gonnella, 2011).

This might be owing to the reasons for an increased level of modernization and the gaining momentum of internationalization. These factors often contribute to causing type 2 diabetes among individuals (Hojat, Louis, Markham, Wender, Rabinowitz, & Gonnella, 2011). With the increasing level of stress and absurd lifestyle, varied sorts of diseases are affecting the lifestyle of people in the global arena. Diabetes particularly types 2 is noted to be increasing at an alarming rate among both men and women in the UK.

This statistical development can be observed in most of the first-world countries having progressive economic structures and huge industrial development. It has even been diagnosed that with increasing work burden and augmentation in the level of work pressure, people are facing a huge level of stress in the global domain this is affecting their lifestyle (Hojat, Louis, Markham, Wender, Rabinowitz, & Gonnella, 2011). Furthermore, it is also found that the countries, which are exposed to different industrial needs, are largely get affected by diabetes.

The statistical report presented by Diabetes UK (2014) reflects the fact that around 6% of adults were diagnosed with the disease within the UK in the year 2013.
