Dynamic HTML or DHTML is not among those standards of technologies. Dynamic HTML defined as the mode of using the web standards CSS, JavaScript and HTML at the same time to generate dynamic web pages (Ayesh 2000, p. 120). The pages constructed with Dynamic HTML do not need to reload but only appear dynamic through the change of their look.

The real dynamic pages usually do a different work where they retrieve the data from backend systems and send it. The Dynamic HTML principle is to perform the unfeasible tasks that appear impossible in the earlier days and make the pages look more dynamic, attractive or moving things around on the mouse click. The primary effect of the Dynamic HTML was losing of its impact quickly mainly when some browsers were incapable of supporting it and ended to be a dead end page. Dynamic HTML was considered as a great concept, but it did not bring elitism to JavaScript developers especially on maintenance of property codes as someone who was unable to understand the ability of putting things on the move had no idea of changing his or her code in any way (Quigley 2004, p. 495). The changes or ideas that were adopted on overcoming the issues of Dynamic HTML to develop DOM scripting platform included progressive enhancement of the script, easing the maintenance of the scripts and the scripts strictly following the idea of separating dissimilar layers of web design.

Use of dynamic created elements and event handlers instead of non-script and on-click, use of modern event handling and avoidance of clashes with other scripts also contributed in the development of DOM scripting (Goodman 2002, p. 17). Conclusively, the changes were significant on maintaining and easier use of modern web technology. The changes were due to the failure of Dynamic HTML to support the basic or modern necessity of quality web technology. There might be some scopes within the new changes, but it is a favorable introduction of a real dynamic building technology.
