November 24, Technology, Language & Writing Introduction Technology is what people use to improve their lives. The paper delves on the importance of technology to the learning and language practices. The research focuses on the advantages of online Cloud computing and online libraries to hasten one’s assigned tasks and responsibilities. The users of the cloud computing greatly profit from the faster, easier, more comfortable, and more protected information use compared to the physical recording and use of information. Cloud Computing’s Effect on How People Use Information Cloud computing continues to change how people use information. Cloud computing allows the cloud users faster and easier storing and retrieval of vital information. The cloud users pay for preferred gigabytes of cloud space (Tari 54). With the payment, the cloud users like me to upload huge quantities of my confidentially important word doc, pdf, mobi, epub, jpg, and other files into the my allocated cloud computing space (Collins 13). Today, society’s trend is to maximize the benefits of cloud computing. A Gartner report conducted last January, 2013 indicated that cloud computing usage will rise by an estimated 20 percent during 2014. The rise equates to a $155 billion market share. Every aspect of human existence in our current 21st Century life requires the use of online cloud computing services. Several organizations use cloud computing to improve their services. Organizations in the field of business use the cloud computing services. Entities involved in the research and development activities advantageous use the cloud computing environment. Healthcare uses online healthcare sources found in the cloud computing services to enhance the patients’ health conditions. Businesses use cloud computing in their e-commerce transactions (Bilal et al. 10). Further, the school’s shift to the online library system reduces the cost of paying employees working in the physical library’s school-related book information (Bilal et al. 10). The school uploads the eBooks and other library-related files in their chosen cloud database alternative. With the uploading of the online library eBooks, the students do not need the help of the library personnel. The job of the physical library personnel is to locate the physical library borrower’s preferred physical books. Next, the physical library personnel will let the library borrower sign their library card as proof that they are required to return the physical books at the scheduled deadline date. With the shift to the online cloud-based library, the physical delivery of the students’ preferred books is eliminated. With the shift to the online cloud-based library, the school can save on the salaries of the retrenched physical library employees. Further, the shift to the cloud-based online library information retrieval from the physical library system allows the borrowers (online eBook information users) to retrieve the preferred book anywhere. The borrower who is currently vacationing in Japan can turn on their tablets to log on to the cloud-based online school library. The borrower can retrieve one’s class textbook and other references from the online school library. The Japan vacationer does not have to cut his Japan vacation just to borrow the professor’s required research book. The borrower saves money from the need to travel from Japan to Arizona State jus to borrow the required book (Bilal et al. 10). Furthermore, the shift to cloud-based online library information retrieval from the physical library system reduces the time needed to use the school-related books. A busy Arizona student who works at a grocery store in Tucson does not have to physically visit the Arizona State University’s physical library to brush up on his class lessons. The busy student can just turn on his laptop during work break time or while riding the bus passing through the busy and noisy Phoenix traffic. Consequently, the student saves time allocated to retrieving the physical books from the school library (Bilal et al. 10). In addition, the student saves time trying to search for the required books. The shift to cloud-based library information system ensures that borrowers that he or she can retrieve the professor’s required reference book within just a click of a mouse. Compared to time saved using the cloud-based online library information system, the old system of visiting the school library is very time consuming. Sometimes, the library personnel that students’ requested library book is out on loan to another classmate or school mate for few days. Worst, the school’s physical library assistant informs the student that the requested book cannot be found, lost among the hundreds of book stacked in the library’s shelves. The borrower has to unnecessarily travel for three or more hour to the school to retrieve physical books (Bilal et al. 10). Further, the online cloud-based library makes finishing the required assignments an easier task. With just the click of the mouse, the online cloud-based library will generate a long list of available online books on the assignment topics. With another click of the mouse, the student accesses the chosen set of online library books. The online cloud-based library research reduces the time needed to turn the pages of 50 randomly selected books on the assigned classroom topic. The online cloud-based library research removes the need to physically carry 70 heavy physical books on the assigned classroom topic. Carrying the 70 books down the school stairs through the maze of Arizona State University students entering their class may cause the borrower to accidentally trip and fall down the stairs (Bilal et al. 10). Additionally, the online cloud environment allows people to store vital information into the cloud database (Ahmad et al. 142). In the workplace, companies save their important files into the cloud database. Consequently, any line and staff employee or management officers can retrieve their required work-related data from the online cloud database from any place and at any time of the day. One popular accounting software, QuickBooks, uses Cloud technology to record and retrieve information pertaining to the business operations. Companies can easily save and retrieve information pertaining to the company’s marketing, finance, budget, and actual operations. Evaluation. In terms of evaluation, the online cloud computing reduces the avoidable time needed to save and retrieve valid, relevant, and vital information (Ahmad et al. 142). Likewise, the online cloud computing reduces the expense of maintaining a physical library or a physical workplace database. In the workplace, the physical files can deteriorate. Some of the book pages are torn, removed, blurred, and the inks may fade into unreadable letters and numbers. Some of the physical records of the workplace or company may be misplaced, accidentally burned, stolen, viewed in authorized manner, or thrown into the waste basket. My Perspective. My perspective on the development of cloud computing is cloud computing reduces the time needed to save and retrieve the people’s important files (Ahmad et al. 142). Likewise, cloud computing helps keep the people’s important records and other information safer than physical storage. No one can barge into my office or home to steal the information stored in my computer hard drive because the information is stored in a secluded and safe pace. . The information is stored safely in the people’s chosen cloud database. Consequently, people can use any computer, tablet, android phone, or other devices to retrieve my stored information from the online cloud Furthermore, my reaction to the cloud computing system include being happy, comfortable, and secure (Ahmad et al. 142). I am happy because I can use any computer to open the files stacked inside my online cloud files. I am happy that I can reduce the time needed to locate the sources required to finish my class assignments by using my school’s online libraries. Since I can retrieve the online books, online journals, online news articles, and other sources from anywhere I am presently located, I save the time needed to travel to the school library to retrieve the physical school library’s heavy books. I am comfortable with the cloud computing and my school’s online library technology. I sit comfortably at the comfort of my bedroom while scouring the online books displayed in my school’s library. Opportunities in Cloud Computing. There are opportunities in the global cloud computing environment (Ahmad et al. 142). First, there is faster and easier information transfer. People can allow the global customers, students, and other individuals to view the cloud database public files People from any place on earth can use the cloud computing data to enhance their decision making activities. Cloud computing enhances the decision making process. The ease and speed in the retrieval of relevant online cloud information related to the current issue or problem from any place on earth helps improve individuals’ make more informed decisions. The decision makers can receive. Further, the employees, managers, students, and other individuals can use more information from the cloud environment than information stored in a heavy bag filled with large external hard disks or USBs to retrieve decision-based stored information (Ahmad et al. 142). The online cloud environment eliminates the possibility of thieves and robbers stealing vital information in addition, some students, employees, and individuals may accidentally misplace their external hard disk or USB. It would be very difficult to reconstruct the lost information stored in the misplaced or lost hard drive. The intense heat of the sun or the freezing winter cold may damage the physical hard drive, USB or external hard drive, destroying the important files and. In addition, many companies prioritize the use of cloud computing in their business strategies. The lower cost of cloud computing compared to the cost of physical storage and retrieval of business data persuades many business establishments to join the cloud community to take advantage of the flexible cloud usage rates. The businesses rely on the cloud community’s interoperability benefits to enhance the outcomes of their decision making activities. To serve the increasing needs of growing cloud computing clients, the anti-hacking software reduces the online cloud computing speed. However, ensuring that hacking does not succeed, ant-hacking software reduces the speed of organizations’ cloud computing information transfer (Ahmad et al. 142). Further, the cloud computing trend sparked the cross-cloud information exchange (Ahmad et al. 142). The exchange includes the transfer of information through cloud to cloud communication. Social networking sites favorably benefit from the advantages of the cloud computing environment (Jayalath 103). Members of the social media exchange messages with each other within such social networking sites as Facebook and other social networking sites’ cloud computing benefits. Cloud computing supports several many entities to many entities information exchange interaction. Furthermore, business data includes data pertaining to the current and future target customers. Many users of the cloud computing strategy prefer the energy conservation strategy. The users prefer one of advantages of cloud computing, the performance of real time tasks. The users benefit from the cloud computing system’s assurance of reliable information at the touch of a mouse. Likewise, the users use the cloud environment’s assurance that their information passes through the very trustworthy real time signal process, scientific computing, and energy-aware strategy. To reiterate, companies prefer the benefits of cloud computing’s costs saving benefits. The companies do not have to allocate significantly huge funds for the costly installation, repair, and maintenance of hardware and software needs. Consequently, the companies devote the saved money on the development and achievement of their goals and objectives (Zhu et al. 168). Cloud computing has its Dangers. Brown outs, black outs, or absence of electricity prevents access to the online cloud information. Hackers from any part of the world can retrieve, delete, or alter the cloud computing files, including a file containing passwords to different websites or files. When this happens, the individuals will not be able to retrieve information needed to make an immediate workplace or school decision (Choo 52). Cloud computing has its problems. Both cloud technology and online library technology have problems (Ranjan 21). One problem is the possible lack of inoperability among the different competing cloud providers. Compatibility issues may prevent on Cloud computing site’s data sharing data with another Cloud sites’ server. The same problem may similarly occur between one online library site and another library online site. Likewise, one site may function better another competing site (Ranjan 21). It is common knowledge that one cloud computing site may offer faster speed and bigger free Gigabyte space compared to another competing cloud competing site. The same problem may also occur in one online library site and not in another better managed online library site. Conclusion Based on the above discussion, technology helps enhance the people’s everyday activities. People use cloud computing to quickly generate information from any location. Cloud computing hastens the learning and language practices. Users of cloud computing, including library, save on hardware and software costs and expenses. Evidently, users of cloud computing benefit from the faster, easier, more comfortable, and more protected information use than physical recording and retrieval of information.
