The place faces recognition from its ancient formation, and the manner through which people of all nationalities visit the location in an effort to expand their talents in the field of acting and other theatre based activities. The place came up around the year 1929 and ever since, it has become a hub for countless talents. Many of the contemporary actors in the country developed their talents in the location. It is important to go through the various aspects, mostly social, of the location in an effort to gain a deeper understanding of it. Methodology There was the incorporation of the more popular qualitative research which was later on concluded by quantitative research all that are later discussed extensively. In addition to these, it is important to recognize there are two different methods through which a researcher can gain data. This is by either secondary research or primary research (Said, 2003, 42). There was the quantitative review of the study. From this, I was able to deduce information regarding the numeric view of the information. I carried out sheets through which I would tabulate my observations. I was able to identify the fact that young men and women did not pay much attention to me. This was from the fact that at some points, I had to fill in the sheets in open ground to avoid missing any data. These people rather went on their usual businesses. The older generation seemed curious as to what I was doing filling in forms but none of them came up to me that came in positively given the fact that my study was a field trip report. The qualitative part of the research came in at the point where I had to calculate the number of people that had stable employment. This was attained from going to a specific location in Civic Theatre, taking a certain amount of time and observing the people that seemed to carry out urgent business as compared to those that just lay around the area with nothing to do. This assisted me in understanding the economic stature of the location. Discussion and Analysis Civic theatre as a location is one that impresses in the manner through which the people in it run their daily activities. I sought to gain a deeper understanding of the location by paying it a visit and witnessing first hand. This was imperative in that it would represent majority of the areas in the country that people do not visit often. Greater observation of the location revealed that one major commodity associated with the Civic theatre is food, a commodity vital for the survival of any human being. From long ago, food has always been central in the Civic theatre (Ayers, 2008, 56) and the people of the location remain much focused on farming activities. For millions and millions of human population living in various parts of the Newcastle, their backbone of specialized food mainly lies on food provided around Civic theatre. I understood this better as I found many families and women lined up in different stalls busy purchasing and engaging with the sellers. The fact that the buyers and the sellers each left each other with a glow on their faces revealed that each was satisfied and this no verbal interaction led me to conclude that the people in the area coexisted peacefully. It is important to recognize the fact that most of the people residing in the area are of middle age and old age. According to me, the fact that made old people like the area is its calmness. Civic theatre is one calm place and as common to many, the elderly are all about resting and are not fond of noise. It is important to recognize that the clothing that goes along with the elderly generation is not what contemporary society can call fashionable. Old people are fond of traditions and adjusting to change is a rather difficult aspect for them to accommodate (Mackenzie, 2006, 41). The clothes that these people wore were not quite in fashion and the aspect that did not disturb them. However, for their young ones and aliens who settle in the area in an effort to raise their careers, they were rather fashionable as they tried to keep in time with upcoming trends in the industry. Shifting attention to understand the other side of the Civic theatre offers one a chance to learn some truth about it. In what could be termed to as “low” culture of the Civic theatre, research has revealed various important issues that may portray power relationships (Ayers, 2008, 231). It was while at the location that I witnessed firsthand violence at night whereby the authorities treated cases differently depending on the influence of the victim’s family in the town. This led me to learn that common citizens in other parts tend to view a selected minority or rather judge them negatively due to some following highlighted reasons. An example of where for instance a 10-year-old boy, Mike, growing up in the city and gets to visit his grandparents in the Civic theatre while on summer vacation. It’s while they are in the Civic theatre, where ones in a while war breaks out in the neighborhood and it’s not even safe to be out late at night unlike in the city where Mike even in his early age can hang with his neighborhood friends till late at night. After such an occurrence, the young boy may create a mentality that the Civic theatre is for some reason brutal and is not what any other region of the continent would want to be. These kinds of conclusions are also in the minds of several adults and thus the widespread negative notions with regard to the Civic theatre. Curiosity and further exploration into the subject brings forth more findings on the issue. This research is from various questions that may arise from the existing findings. Such questions are such as, why exactly is the Civic theatre facing such issues while everyone is watching? What is the itchy issue that has blown all this up? Observing the area critically led me to realizing that one of the major issues is the lack of jobs, lack of premises, land, basic human necessities, and other related causes. This I concluded from the high number of idlers I witnessed during the day, people sleeping along pavements and the violence at night. The rot has dug its way deep into the Civic theatre’s name that it could lay used to define them sorry to say (Ferris, 2008, 136). If only people paid more attention to the Civic theatre and learn about all this, then they might as well understand and take the first step to stop the viewing and referring to the Civic theatre as a substandard culture. Despite all this, the Civic theatre has managed to stand out strong amongst all odds with their opinions about it, relying on themselves and God majorly. They and their generations continue to grow in all normal status, feeding Newcastle with a number of citizens who add up to the population of the Newcastle. Apart from all this, race crisis is a major hit on the Civic theater dome. As opposed to the friendly nature accorded to me, black people were discriminated by the inhabitants of Civic Theater (Limper, 2006, 99). It’s a region occupied by immigrants from different parts of the world. You find this bringing many differences between them, bringing about anger towards each other and resistance. With this, what erupts are the frequent wars and further disruption of peace. As stated, most of the people living in the area are mostly the elderly, this came from the reasons stated that the town is a simple one and lay started a long time ago. Many people who grew up in the location never really had the urge to bulge and thus they still live there. The power set up is very simple, the people involved with rules, regulations are more like regular people and citizens of the area, and thus they lay reputed well. One major focus I pay attention to from my visit is the manner through which law enforcement officers handle people with various crimes in the area. The orders directly give the officers the manner through which they will treat and a well outlined procedure (MacKaye, 2011, 167). This is important to ensure that the criminals remain dealt with concerning the concept of being innocent unless proven guilty by the law. The manner through which they lay handled brings out the effectiveness of the orders as they remain stipulated and the paper will be sure to explain this in length. In the view of the area, the effectiveness of the orders is going to face review studying the subsequent result of their application. This is for example on the issue of drugs. The reduction of the number of teenagers that fall into the trap of drugs has lay seen to reduce over the years. This I got from the increased number of young entrepreneurs as opposed to previous information I had attained. The reduction in drug use is due to the elimination of drug dealers in the streets by observation of the orders. There will be the mention of parents’ views on the issue. Another issue that lies in discussion in the essay is the types of courts that lie granted the mandate to pass the orders and this was from one of my court visits. People who commit crimes whether petty or even large crimes have very much fear for the authority or the types of courts that pass the orders (Ferris, 2008, 161). This is because the effectiveness of the orders largely depends on the authority passing them. Some criminals may not commit crimes if the court passing the judgment is a minor court as they are sure to have appeal to a higher court. The types of courts and their authorities in the area play a major role in crime reduction The laws have various shortcomings too when it comes to effectiveness and are discussed in length while engaging in conversations with the inhabitants. The orders have been criticized many times and been said to be open-ended. This is because they do not clearly study the various aspects of a certain case and just get to a conclusion. The laws are said not to carry out a good background check on issues and the justification is not clear (Varisco, 2007, 117). This thus makes them not clearly effective. Another point to discuss on the orders is on the way they lay said not to fully carry out analysis of the person involved and thus prove ineffective. This is at cases where there has been imprisonment of people with various diverse mental problems (Pema 2010, 246). The orders would have been effective in achieving impartiality had they taken the concerned people to mental institutions where they get the required treatments for their conditions. It is important to understand various discourses brought out by understanding the area’s material culture. In understanding the various discourses in the society, it is important to make a comparison between the various artifacts in the community and the social welfare. The major representation of this is the Newcastle Civic theatre auditorium that is located at wheeler place. The auditorium unites the people of the area and is one that society clearly relates. Many people have had the benefit of developing their talents there. This provides an even deeper connection with the people. The hall holds 1520 people that cater for the interested natives and visitors during an event (Mackenzie, 2005, 87). It is important to recognize that among all the discourses in the location, this theatre remains the most important and major one. One can get this even from the name of the theatre itself. The fact that many buildings in the area are made using the ancient methods of construction is another discourse to put into account. This ensure that the older generation, which is large in population, feel at ease and do not get the notion that change has come to subdue them (Hammilton, 2009, 53). Most of the civilians in the area have also adopted a system through which the get to constructing buildings in the same design. This ensures continuity of the civic theatre culture and consequently, greater social relations between people of all ages. Several other discourses are important to mention with regard to Civic Theatre. One other is the local hospital. Despite the fact that the hospital is a place associated with negativity in terms of the health of people, the place brings people together at times despite of the differences that they may have. Patients and doctors, visiting relatives, all come together at this location for the sake of their loved ones. Built around the 1970s, the hospital has been very effective. The local church build in the year 1937 by missionaries is another discourse. People unite on Sabbath at the location and thank God, for all He has done for them, people across different ages and tribes unite for this purpose. The church is one of the recognized figure in the location standing tall around the centre of the church making it accessible to different people at all times. The local school also comes in as a very important discourse to mention with regard to Civic Theatre. This is from the fact that many different people with diverging ideologies come together and bring their children to the institution that has received acclamation as being a talent developer for most of the theatre professions of the contemporary age. During the Second World War, many people died in the line of war abroad and it caught the attention of the authorities that they build a cemetery in respect of these people. This cemetery has various people visiting it where they pay their respects to their local war heroes. The cemetery hosts people from all over Newcastle and unites different people around the state. Conclusion The west does not regard Civic theatre greatly as an area that art and film have made great strides in the contemporary world. This kind of negative attitude towards the country as a whole is a major factor that affects people. This is from the fact that they have a rich history of independence and looking out for each other. Visiting the location was entirely enlightening and educative and the fact that they gave me clear evidence of the books written by these philosophers, depicting their lives and the factors affecting them such as the west subduing and condescending their efforts, gave me great insight on the areas.
