The second type can maintain its state without electrical charge. Hence, the data stored in the later form of flash memory cards is referred to as non-volatile. 

The widespread usage of flash drive memory cards can be attributed to the availability of flash disk adaptors for computers which facilitate the fast transfer of data on these devices. The capacity of some of the available storage cards in the market ranges between 2GB to 32GB depending on the media type. However, Moore’s Law dictates the doubling of capacity over one and a half years (Brown 202). However, recent technological advancements fall outside Moore’s Law, manufacturing storage cards with higher storage capacity. Current technological advancements classify flash memory cards depending on their price, speed, reliability, and warranty (Chen para.2). Some of the recent developments in the storage capacity and type of flash memory cards are indicated below.
