His associations with this ranged not only from intellectual ideologies, but also included his pilgrimage to Rome to discover the historical nature of the region and how this was associated with religious ideologies. Nature v. Nurture The works of Gibbon were associated more with nurturing the writing and working on the craft then going with the nature of the artistic work. This was done specifically because there was the need to establish strong philosophies that flowed in a logical manner. This was attributed specifically to the writing which was a part of Gibbon’s work, which was based on the understanding that there needed to be logic and truth at the basis of the work which was able to define the legitimacy of the argument.

Since this was against organized religion and historical components in a time when this was at a height, Gibbon was challenged with methodologically creating an understanding about the situation with religion. The main works which were created then combined history, philosophy and other ideologies based on a logical set of arguments with the writing. Tradition of Artistic Achievement The tradition of artistic achievement that Gibbon had was based on his educational framework and scholarship which he created.

Gibbon was educated at Oxford and was associated with other philosophers which were interested in the same ideologies. The traditions which were explored were based on understanding the philosophical and intellectual concepts which were associated with the work while creating a deeper understanding to some of the pressing issues of the time. This came specifically from the educational background of Gibbon as well as his place in Parliament, which required that the deeper issues of the enlightenment and the time were approached in a constructive manner.

Examples of Creative Products The products which were associated with Gibbon were inclusive of several works and books that Gibbon wrote. The main product noted was based on the Memoirs of Rome and the concept of pilgrimage which he took throughout his life. The main work which was associated with this was the History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, which was inclusive of 2 main volumes based on the history of Europe. This was combined with several smaller works and studies which he associated with his main philosophies and with the Enlightenment.

Impact on Time Frame & Today The impact which Gibbon had during his time was strongly associated with his position in Parliament as well as his educational background. The history which he wrote about in his works influenced the way in which many thought, specifically because of his capability to easily gain recognition. This was followed with the ability for others in the future to begin moving more in – depth with the works, including an understanding of Christianity and Judaism from a perspective outside of religion.

This pushed historians and philosophers to re-examine organized religion and historical components and to create a deeper understanding of how these were able to associate with each other during his time frame.
