How To Drive A Manual Car Introduction Parents believe that driving a car is the most difficult task to perform in an individuals life and that is why they pay too much emphasis on age and knowledge before allowing their children to drive a car. Driving a manual car is one of the easiest jobs to perform if you have the right information and right guidance available for your assistance. In this I guide you will learn about the steps involved in driving a manual car.Steps The 1st step is the most essential step of driving a manual car and that step is to ensure that you have taken all the necessary safety measures including: put your seat belts, adjusted the rear view as well as the side mirrors.

The 2nd step is to know the use of different pedals, the one on the extreme right is the accelerators, the extreme right one is the clutch and the middle one is the brake. The 3rd step you need to know is how the gears are shifted. In order to shift gears, first press the clutch and then move the gear either up or down. The 4th step is how to get the car moving. To move the gar, you need to press your left foot against the clutch, change the gear by my moving it to extreme left and up where it states “1” and now start pressing the accelerator slowly, while simultaneously lifting you left foot from the clutch.

Make sure that both the movements take place simultaneously. Lastly you will remove your left foot from the clutch and keep applying pressure to the accelerator. Step 5th is to know how to increase the speed of the car. In order to increase the speed of the car, all you have to take your foot off the accelerator and press the clutch and then shift the gear downwards where it states “2” (Carroll 120). Continue performing the same action while continuously shifting the gears to continue increasing the speed.

You will notice that after a certain amount of speed while you are driving with the first gear, the car starts making sounds. This means that the gear needs to be changed and as soon as the sound starts increasing at each gear levels, keep shifting the gear. The 6th step is to brake the speed of the car. In order to stop the care or slow down, you first have to stop accelerating and keep your right foot on the brake and start applying the brake carefully and slowly, you will notice that the speed of the car is decreasing.

Once the speed of the car is slow enough that the car starts trembling, immediately apply the clutch and continue pressing the brake until the car comes to a stop. The 7th step is how to reverse the car. All you have to do is, shift the gear towards the “R” sign while holding the clutch and then apply the accelerator while relieving the clutch.Works CitedCarroll, William.
