Essence of a good Consider what, in William Faulkner view, should be the main concerns of a good According to William Faulkner, a good writer has to express some main aspects of literature and attachment to their work of literature. According to William Faulkner, a good writer has to avoid fear in expressing their thoughts in a work of literature. This is because; fear destroys writer’s creativity, which is an essential aspect of literature. Avoiding fear will enable the write to express creativity in their work, thus creating an aspect of attachment to the human heat (Faulkner).

The content of the message from the work of literature has to express hope in appealing to the human heart (Faulkner). This will not only help appeal to the readers but also facilitates the expression of the writer’s creativity and dedication in their work. The message of hope is also necessary in a work of literature in addressing some of the challenges experienced in the society. A good writer has to express their self-dedication to their work of literature and not just for some gains such as glory or profit, but instead the writes has to focus in providing an outstanding work that best appeal to the audience (Faulkner).

Dedication has to focus in appealing to the human spirit; this is because literature work entails appealing to the human spirit and expressing the authors feeling that best pleases the readers and creates a form of attachment as the readers get the information from the work of literature relevant to what is going on in the society. How might that best be applied/ understood today? Concerns of a good writer are essential in the current globe and in understanding different situations. Currently, the writers can still use the doctrine of no fear and gives a message of hope in their work (Faulkner).

This can take into consideration the existence of various challenges in the current globe such as social, political and economic. The writers can also apply this in giving hopes that creates attachment and appeals to the human spirit. In addition, this will facilitate the writers’ creativity hence making one an outstanding literature writer. Currently the writers can also understand the need for dedicating themselves in providing an exceptional work of literature (Faulkner). The writers should have a mind-set with focus in creating some creative work that will best please the human heart.

Conversely, the writers should not put their focus in material benefit such as money and profit that the work is likely to generate; in addition, they should not also focus on benefiting from the glory in regards to success of their work. Which authors text that we read most exemplifies his challenge? An example of an author’s work that clearly demonstrates his ability to participate in the contest is, A Doll House by Henrik Ibsen. Describe why you choose the text/ author and include a discussion about two other artists/texts as well that we read this semester (as the least likely, a runner-up, etc.) In my opinion, A Doll House by Henrik Ibsen meets some of the significant aspects of an outstanding work demonstrated by a good writer.

Henrik Ibsen appeals to the human heart in the illustration of the main theme in his work, A Doll House (Faulkner). The thematic concern presented in the book involves segregation of women in the society that was rampant by then. Through his creativity, he demonstrates with specific examples that please to the human spirit how women encounter oppression (Faulkner). The author displays courage by exposing the vice that existed in the society against women, despite his gender as a male. A Doll House by Henrik Ibsen demonstrates instances of hope to the women who are experiencing segregation.

Illustrations of hope are evident as liberation of women from the unjust practices of segregation, thus they are likely to be set free after all the encounter. As a result, Henrik Ibsen is an example of outstanding work that clearly display appeal to the human spirit, lack of fear and creativity in comparison to Trifles and Hunters in the Snow that are vague in demonstrating features of good writer. Works Cited Faulkner, William. Nobel Banquet. Speech. City Hall, Stockholm. 1950.
