The 7 Habits“The 7 habits of Highly Effective persons” is a self-help and business book with the goal of spurring personal effectiveness. The author, Stephen Covey, presents a unique approach to individuals that are working towards self-realization and being fine in their daily activities. According to (James, 271), the 7 habits concepts are instrumental in realizing and cultivating individual potential and unique ability that each person possesses. In addition, the book provides a platform for a person to align themselves in terms of characters and ethics.

The book, according to (James 260) introduces the notion of the paradigm shift that enables the reader to reinforce the idea that different perspectives exists. In this case, the author argues that two persons can see the same thing but make distinct inferences.Habit 3 The habit, Put First Things First, should be assimilated to enable a person to spend quality time with activities that best fit their mission. In this case, a person who articulates this habit is able to strike a balance between production capacity and the actual production.

(James, 273) declares that habit three prevents individuals from task crisis and confusion that would affect the productivity. In this case, the person spends most of the time building production capacity as compared to straining the existing facility in attempt to increase profitability. In addition, habit three dictates that an individual should identify key responsibilities in life and create time for each of them. Habit 4 The habit, Think Win/Win, is predetermined to encourage compromise and to seek to agree than to have one party carrying the day while the other carries disappointment.

In this case, individual with this habit will engage in mutually beneficial relationships. In addition, the behavior allows people to visualize a disagreement as an agreement to disagree or as a having a no deal agreement. This will allow people to cultivate a culture of accept either outcomes in a tussle of engagements, (James, 277). The habit demands that when managers are designing an organizational culture, they should give incentives to win/win behavior amongst employees and reprimands win/lose behaviorHabit 6: SynergizeThis habit is geared towards achieving positive teamwork.

According to the book “The 7 habits of Highly Effective persons” habit 6 calls for managers to combine efforts, strength and expertise of all players to form a teamwork that will deliver goals that no single player would achieve when working alone. Through trustful communiqué, the team leader should find ways to leverage individual discrepancies to build a whole that is superior to the sum of the parts. Moreover, mutual trust and understanding can often solve quarrels and find a better resolution than either person's own explanation.

According to the book, our habits have an influential role in or life as it defines our character. Habits comprise of skill knowledge, and desire. Knowledge makes us know our responsibilities; skill makes us able to do our duties while the desire motivates us to carry out our duties.Work CitedJames C.,.
