1.     Introduction
Social networking is taking shape in the business world. Social networking is becoming the new medium of communication that is preferred in the modern business environment.  In the future, social media will become a trusted source of information than advertising (Atif, Elnaffar, & Al Falahi, 2010). The sad thing is the fact that marketers have no control over the messaging and positioning. In this context, social networking is described in ways in which the organizations can be part of the communication process and therefore affect the content.

Social networking is a new communication paradigm where people, connected over the Internet, share a common interest to share a common activity. Social networking gives users many ways in which the users can communicate with each other which include blogs, e-mail, instant messaging, and newsfeeds which have information concerning the communities. It is powerful because the barriers to communication that have been experienced in traditional communication are broken here. (Atif, Elnaffar, & Al Falahi, 2010).

1.1 Technology
Many users create a profile of themselves when they start using social networking as a tool. These profiles describe the interests and the activities that these users get engaged in. When the users have set up their profiles they will go ahead, connect with friends, and even form other groups, which is of particular interest to them. After groups were made, communication will then go on as required. Any comment or update, which will be made by a group member, will be broadcast to the rest of the members. It is fast and reliable compared to traditional ways of communication.

Conclusion
In conclusion, social networking is becoming an important form of connectedness and a new platform of communication. Companies and organizations should align their communication strategies and structures so that they adopt social networking. Internet and websites should not only be used to connect with friends but it should also be used for increasing connectivity within a given organization. The old tradition where organizations used email as the only means of communication is long gone. Instead of frustrating efforts of employees using Facebook in company time, it should be seen positively. People are enthusiastic about using social networking as a platform for effective communication. This should be changed so that the employees get more from the Internet and social networking. This way, they will be in a position to reap from social networks and turn the enthusiasm to suit the organization.
