Rationale Change is frequent in the technology sector. Comparatively, this sector is more prone to the effects of changes because the frequency of change particularly in the technology sector is the highest than the other sectors, such as banking, insurance, construction and others. For the sake of understanding and clarity, the scope of technology, for this paper, will be limited to telecommunication industry and other softwares that influence to the information communication technology. 3. Literature review (a) On this topic, previous research has been by Dennis G. Erwin and Andrew N. Garman (2010). In their research, they elaborate resistance to organisational change and its impact. Similarly, Lloyd C. Harris, Andrew Crand (2002), Sjoerd Beugelsdijk, Arjen, Slangen, Marco van Herpen (2002), and Bernard Burnes (1996) have all conducted research on organisational change, motivation, and information communication technology. (b) Change and its impact on employees’ motivation are unavoidable. Recently, many factors have influenced the organisational environment and culture. Consequently, this impact has positively and negatively affected the employees’ motivation. However, for organisations, it is highly essential to provide congenial environment to employees as this will enable them to retain their level of motivation which will convince and direct them to achieve their job related goals and objectives. However, motivation is defined as a force enabling someone to work in a specified direction for obtaining a certain organisational objectives (Mills et al., 2007). In the same context, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation has been separated as both have different types of impacts and benefits offered by organisations. For example, intrinsic motivation is doing something for one’s own sake (Jacobs, 1993). On the other hand, extrinsic motivation is externally provided incentive in which an employee is offered an incentive or reward for completing certain targets. The field of information communication technology (ICT) experiences more effects of changes than any other fields and it faces both positive and negative impacts of change for a number of reasons. For example, every day new advancements, softwares, methods, and techniques are being invented and the frequency of these changes is so fast that new version is hardly implemented and the latest version is developed. In this regard, Iyanda and Ojo (2008) carried out study over the impact of adopting new ICT on the motivation of employees in the Botswana organisations; they found that the impact of new ICT adoption has been positive on the overall motivation of employees. 4. Methodology Qualitative and Quantitative approach Both qualitative and quantitative research approaches will be used for completing the paper. Qualitative research uses subjective or personal understanding for interpreting a set of data (Rubin and Babble, 2010). In this research, researcher’s own understanding plays a main role as he or she will be required to employ his own frame of mind for analysing and evaluating the particular data. Additionally, qualitative research is largely descriptive and general in nature and most of the time; observations are used for collecting data relevant for using the qualitative research framework. On the other hand, quantitative data, which relies on the use of numbers and scientific data, analyses and interprets data based on the available models and theories. Moreover, statistical models are used for interpreting the collected data along with using predetermined and well defined models are used. Data Collection Method Both primary and secondary research will be carried out. For the primary research, a questionnaire will be distributed among the potential respondents in which ten closed ended questions will be provided and they will be required to answer the questions. Additionally, 100 potential respondents from the middle to the senior management officers will be contacted through email and they will be asked to provide their feedback on the provided questionnaire. Subsequently, using the advanced excel, the graphs will be drawn for highlighting the results. Secondary research will be carried out for discussing and highlighting the previous research on the topic and their subsequent causes and effects will be used for understanding the extent of previous research and its relevance and applicability for the current and future effects of technology. Reliability and Validity Both valid and reliable data are always essential for completing a professional paper. For this objective, the researcher will not use unofficial, invalid and unreliable sources but mainly will prefer to obtain data from reliable and valid sources. For example, the researcher will use Emeraldinsight, which is well known international database providing authentic and valid journal articles, and will also use books, prominent newspapers and their provided analysis on the given topic. As both validity and reliability have considerable significance and have substantial implications for the quality of paper, the researcher will try to retain authenticity of paper by accessing and employing the valid and reliable sources and information as well. Research Ethics Research ethics refer to the standards of behaviour which are to be adopted by researchers while conducting a research activity (Walsh, 2001). For the collecting primary data, the researcher will obtain free consent and free will from the potential respondents and they will be asked to provide their feedback as they consider necessary. Additionally, the researcher will not try to influence on their opinion and understanding but will only use their provided feedback which will subsequently be analysed. 5. For this purpose, I selected change and motivation in the ICT industry as this industry experiences more effects of changes than any other industry. So, it will be helpful to evaluate the effects of change on motivation. 8.
