Economic Impact of Republic airport on the town of Babylon Economic impact that republic airport has on the town of Babylon. The republic airport is situated in East Farmingdale, west of the town of Babylon. Amongst the various ways by which the Republic airport affects the town of Babylon in various ways economically as follows: It draws corporations doing business and firms to setup their head offices in the island due to the advantage they accrue of the readily available and accessible airport which offers a reliable means of transport for all the staff and good and is convenient and reliable.

These corporations increase the economic activities of the tow of Babylon and hence increasing its income. It has a local economic impact that annually support more than 1370 jobs in the town leading to Annual Earnings of about $78,025,500 and annual economic activities that are amounting to about $214,144,300. It’s a source of employment to the residents of Babylon in different fields like accountants, managers, and aircraft control staff. Since the airport is self-supporting, none of the towns earning from tax is spent in funding any of its operations.

In addition the airport together with its residents also contributes over 600,000 dollars as tax to the town. The airport is also the home to the famous American Air power museum which invites air travel enthusiasts from all over the globe. The facility hence adds to the income of the town and the airport. It is also the home to Long Island Republic Airport Historical Society which keeps the important displays of the airport. Finally, the airport has led the town to attain national publicity.

It hence hosts world class events like golf. This also earns the town much income.
