Drucker coined the word knowledge worker and thus revolutionized the whole concept of management. Drucker was the son of a civil servant in the Austrian capital. After he had finished school he went to Germany where he worked in a bank and after that pursued his career in journalism. He earned a Doctorate in the field of International Law and later on since the Nazism was pretty high within Germany at that time, he was forced to leave the country in the year 1933. He became a university professor in the United States and contributed to different magazines and editorials through his freelance writing work.

Drucker taught at the New York University where he was taken in as a Professor of Management and his tenure lasted from 1950 to 1971. After this, he served as Clarke Professor in the fields of Social Science and Management at the Claremont Graduate University.Peter Drucker used to think and act in a manner which was close to his heart. He exhibited different models and theories of management and business operations on a daily basis and his practice was such that his students and fellow colleagues would feel encouraged of.

He was indeed a business thinker in his own right and his work spoke volumes about the amount of thinking and analysis that he had done in his free time. He ate, slept and thought about management and the different perspectives which are present in line with business and its varied regimes. These aspects surely make him one of the strongest advocates of management philosophies of all time and for this credit must be given to him on all possible occasions. He invested a lot of time and energy on the aspects related with getting work done through the people than the processes since he considered the people to be the processes themselves and the process was marked as something which is just a tool which makes things happen through the willingness of the people at the helm of affairs as far as business operations and management issues are concerned.
