This assignment is therefore a way of helping you reflect on how you can develop as a person – essentially emphasizing what your strengths are and where you need to try to develop.This is the sort of activity you will be carrying out when you go on placement and will be helpful as you move into the workplace. The aim is to begin the process described in the lectures as being too first to understand you and then understand others. It is really clear that successful people in any walk of life are those who reflect on their strengths and development needs in-depth, so this piece of work serves as a way of developing good habits right at the start of your university career.

This document is to be handed in with the rest of the portfolio (i.e. the essay and weekly tasks) on Jan 11th, 2012. This needs to be submitted in a hard copy to the Undergraduate office as well as being submitted electronically through blackboard coursework submissions.You are going to complete an online test which gives you your score on the Big Five personality factors. When you go to the site http://www.personalitytest.org.uk/ there is a page with some details about the test and how to complete it.

Once you have read this, click on the button which says “I understand the nature of the project and wish to continue”.You are then taken to a page which has 41 questions which you have to respond to in the way instructed. This may sound like a lot of questions but you have to answer them with the first response that comes into your head so it should only take 20 minutes or so. There are then a few questions at the bottom of the page for you to answer some basic details about yourself.

The last of which asks whether your data can be logged. It is not obligatory to provide your detail but your data is anonymous.The test that you have just taken is based on the Five-Factor Model of personality.
