Internationally, the trends and developments keep on shifting. This means that for companies to remain competitive in the market, they need to shift gears and flow with the developments. Due to the changing international trends and developments, the IT industry is also undergoing various shifts, which are fundamental (Information Resources Management Association 2002, 15). In order to remain appropriate to their customers, businesses have to monitor most of the developments and the global trends, which keep on shifting. Change in international trends and developments would mean that more resources are used to ensure the organization remains vibrant in the market. Additionally, with the international trends and developments across the globe, businesses have to keep monitoring the situation and the developments closely in order to adapt to the new technologies and services in the market. Failure to which, the Company would not be in a position to meet the demands of the market(Information Resources Management Association 2002, 38). International trends and development has enabled contributed to technological revolution and in companies such as Dell Inc., technology remains the key factor. Most of Dell Inc. Company’s core economic activities are generally global because they have the ability to work as individual units (Information Resources Management Association 2002, 85). International trends and developments have had various impacts on the Dell Inc. Company. In most cases, activities that were previously conducted via face-to-face interaction are now done across great distances. The company has grown through de-localized whereby it has been able to integrate with the new technologies that involve its customer’s interaction. International trends and developments have generally brought different benefits and prosperity to the Dell Company. In most cases, the International trends and developments help in alleviating severe hardships and the creation of real economic developments. 4. A critical evaluation of how the organization can prepare for the future with regards to human and technological capital Human and technological capitals are generally different in various ways. Generally, human capital entails stock of competencies, social, knowledge and personality attributes that include creativity and performance of labor ability in order to produce economic value. On the other hand, technological knowledge entails focusing on effectiveness through the process of innovation, invention, technology diffusion or processes in order to produce or make an impact on the economic value (Mayer 2001, 85). Technological capital comes with technological development, technological progress and technological achievement in order to stay competitive economically. Human capital is a general term that mostly incorporates all values that ensure people remain economically important while the aspect of technology capital entails the attributes that pertains the development and technology usage (Fedderke 2001, 46). The effect of technological progression on the aspect of human capital remains important. Most research works reveal that technological change especially on the human capital demand generally depends on complementarity or technology-skill substitutability. Just like any other technological corporation, the Dell Inc. Company has to prepare itself in terms of human and technological capital (Fedderke 2001, 74). Earlier research studies expose uncertainties in investing on education in organizations preparing for their future with the aspect of human and technological capital. This is in consideration with the high rates of technological changes in future. Alternatively, increased uncertainties in terms of future earnings will not help the Dell cooperation invest in education as a preparation strategy because it will most likely decrease education demands under risk aversion of workers standard assumption (Dunaway 2001, 38). In terms of the technological capital, Dell Inc. Company can incorporate the idea of micro-mechanism as a preparation for its future in line with both the human and technological capital. Width of human capital generally represents the number of knowledge points in which the human capital contains. In this case, each-knowledge will be important in helping in understanding future technology characteristics not only in the organization but also in the markets. Therefore, the Dell Inc. Company prepares itself by investing in the human capital by adopting the new technology (Fedderke 2001, 98). 5. An assessment of the importance of innovation & its process to achieving corporate objectives Innovation entails the act of introducing new ideas and processes differently. In business, innovations differ and can sometimes revolve around creativity or the generation of new ideas. Creativity remains one of the aspects of the innovation process whereby a single idea can lead to new services and procedures (Edquist 1999, 47). This means that innovation remains an important aspect in any corporation’s success due to the international competition. Alternatively, innovation helps in the growth of knowledge and information, which can play a significant role towards organizational productivity (Dodgson 2008, 36). In reference to Dell’s corporate objectives, the process of innovation generally helps the company in meeting its needs and objectives. Generally, the Dell Company’s main objective is to satisfy its customers. As part of its objectives, the organization has also keen interest in the organization’s price factor. Alternatively, the company has five objectives that relate to its performance and these include; speed, cost, flexibility, dependability and quality. Therefore, in working towards achieving the innovation aspect in the organization, the company would be setting a platform towards meeting most of its objectives (Dodgson 2008, 38). Innovations in the company will provide the company with an opportunity for growth and accessibility of knowledge through IT revolutions (Edquist 1999, 28). In simple terms, the company will have an opportunity to offer its clients with better and quality services through the accessibility of knowledge. Alternatively, the organization will become more dependable and flexible in the market through the aspect of organizational innovation. The first aspect during the innovation process is the generation of ideas. Any organization seeking to satisfy its customers in the market will therefore need to think of developing solutions to organizational problems and coming up with new ideas. This aspect co-relates with the main objective of the Dell Company, which is to satisfy its clients (Edquist 1999, 48). 6. Critique and reflect analytically on the knowledge developed for innovative action Innovation refers to the act of introducing new ideas and processes differently. In as much as innovations in the company will provide the company with an opportunity for growth and accessibility of knowledge through IT revolutions, the aspect of innovation in an organization may prove to be wrong sometimes. Innovations might flop; hence cost the organization unnecessary expenses while sometimes the idea might be costly for any organization. Implementation of an innovative action requires enough funds in order to develop it. This means that in case the organization lacks enough funds then the innovative action might end up flopping. In this case, open development as an aspect for knowledge development and an innovative action generally looks into various aspect of openness including information and knowledge, accessing of data and the aspect of knowledge co-construction. 7. TIM techniques including Kaizen, Benchmarking, Jidoka, lean production, quality circles and JIT and application to Dell Company Automation generally describes machine design features which effects the jidoka principle and the and the lead production effect. In simple terms, it is the aspect of automation with human touch. The five concepts generally entails improvement for the best concept, which involves the quality control, processes which tend to apply on four different principles; detection of abnormality, stop and then fixing the abnormality before investigating the cause of the abnormality. As a technological organization, Dell Inc. is the only company, which utilizes the Just In Time System commonly known as JIT. The company has the revolution of selling various technological products including computer systems by the use of direct business models. In doing this, the organization takes direct orders from its clients. The organization reduces the inventory and the management of the distribution process this way. Introduction of the pull system within market chain, which is seen as a reactive system serves as a JIT system. As a result, the company saves costs and ensures that it satisfies its customer base in the market. 8. Critique and reflect analytically on the knowledge developed for innovative action Creativity as an aspect of the innovation process is whereby a single idea can lead to new services and procedures at the same time; Innovation entails the act of introducing new ideas and processes differently. Conclusion/Summary In concluding this report, it is quite clear that various factors are in place which enable the Dell Company remain an effective organization and the achievement of its market objectives.
