Job description General description Human resource manager manages and guides provision of the services related to human resource, policies and programs (AGCAS, 2012). He or she may act within small scale to medium sized company or may represent a portion of the functions of human resources in large companies. For big and large companies like JA hotels, the human resource manager has diverse and many duties relative to small scale companies. Human resource managers have operates inn certain areas that defines their job positions and they include staffing and recruitment, departmental planning. The other areas of concern include (AGCAS, 2012) Policy development Employee relations Employee counseling and services Employee on boarding, needs assessment, training and development Safety an welfare of the employees Company committee facilitations In this company, the human resource manager has the obligation to lead practices related to human resources as well as objectives that leads to high performance and employee oriented culture that majors on empowerment, productivity, goal attainment and finally development of superior manpower or work force (JA Resorts & Hotel, 2013). On the other hand, the human resource manager in the hospitality companies like JA bears developmental responsibilities in the business premise and oversees metrics and processes that enhance the success or achievement of company’s business goals. Moreover, he or she coordinates people-related services implementation. In the line of relationships, the human resource manager is answerable to some senior staff of the company like the CEO and the managers of the company. Education or knowledge: human resource management Must have at least bachelors degree in the Human resources field, business or any related field that can meet the requirements Masters in Human Resources or Business management would be an added advantage Though SPHR designation will not be necessary, it will be put into consideration Knowledge, skills and characteristics The qualifications below are most important for the human resource managers (Steffen, Lorena, & Rahul, 2006) He or she must be strong in effective communication writing, preparing business presentations as well as interpersonal communication Must have highly developed team works skills as well as the ability to demonstrate the same He or she must be able to demonstrate confidentiality to the highest degree and use the common sense He or she must be able to direct teams efforts of the various or diverse professionals of human resources Demonstrating the ability to improve or increase the overall productivity and must be able to continuously improve management methods in the company. The individual must also be capable of improving approaches under cost-sensitive approaches He or she must be an expert in employee relations and employment laws and communications The individual must be able forecast by providing useful strategic advice to the company as well as senior team or the executives of the company. Demonstrating the ability to lead in environment that is constant to change He or she must have the experience in working under flexible and employee empowering environment He or she must be familiar with and have skills of using human resource tools like HRIS, file management, products of Microsoft suite and benefits administration Have a considerate experience in the organization development as well as change management Multiple locations and global experience will is an added advantage 3. Job advertisement: JA Resorts and Hotels Human Resource Manager The job is all about taking a senior position in the company by becoming the human resource manager of JA Resorts & Hotels. The company is responsible for the management of different portfolio of human resources in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The company would to bring into attention Human Resource Manager Vacancy which it wishes to fill promptly (JA Resorts & Hotel, 2013). Thus, it requires a manager, who has team player skills with high integrity, high sense of confidentiality, best interpersonal skills, administrative and organization skills with sound ethics of work, fairness and consistency. This job will entail reporting to the overall CEO and the company’s top management in line with human resource management and development (Steffen, Lorena, & Rahul, 2006). The individual will be based in Dubai upon confirmation of recruitment. This will be subject to review since the manager can be deployed to other branches across United Arab Emirates and other areas. Key responsibilities Coordination of staff recruitment process to ensure timely as well as comprehensive procedure of hiring the staff Driving new induction programs in the company Ensuring proper employee relations at the organizational level Making sure that there is proper planning of the manpower, reporting and development Providing human resource administrative support to the company Managing welfare of the staff Managing and coordinating training programs Supporting and coordinating programs of performance management by providing guidance to the supervisors on human resource policies, monitoring the budget of the company maintain files Development of the policies of the company and regulations of the staff Job requirements: candidates should have the following minimum qualifications Bachelor’s degree in the Human Resource management field, business or social sciences Post graduate Diploma in the Human Resource Management At least 5 years’ experience in a famous Human Resource set up Excellent skills in communication both oral and written God understanding of the relevant labour laws or legislation, procedures and policies Qualified applicants should send their application letters, testimonials and CVs with at least referees who are professionals.
