The paper “How Knowledge Management Could Contribute to Improve Organization Performance of Oxfam” is an inspiring example of a management report. Oxfam has 17 affiliates spread across 90 countries, which shows that the non-profit organization requires a solid foundation of knowledge to sustain performance. The 2013-2019 strategic plan envisions six principal goals, which include sustaining emergency responses and life-changing developments to alleviate poverty. Oxfam envisions gender equality to overcome the under-representation of women in chauvinistic societies, saving lives on an ongoing basis, attain food security, and provide help in the management of money for basic development (Oxfam, 2013).

Additionally, Oxfam understands the role of environmental protection in the pursuit of prosperity, which is why the strategic plan purposes to create a balance for water, food, and energy despite the increasing competition for natural resources. Evidently, Oxfam has a wide scope of knowledge management due to the partnerships and the community network it must establish to help marginalized people live better lives. The 2013-2019 strategic plan envisages assisting people to gain power, which they can use to stir positive decision-making in the private and public platforms.

The far-reaching implications of knowledge management require Oxfam to consider it as means for becoming an influential player in the global knowledge economy. While the organization is a non-profit organization, the charity market requires an organization that implements knowledge management strategies to achieve competitive advantage (Liebowitz, 2012), Effective knowledge management improves strategic objectives because it prompts reinvention within an organization. Evaluation of KM Strategy at Oxfam Designing timeless principles within the context of charity forms a good foundation for Oxfam.

However, Oxfam has a large affiliate network across the world that demands better ways for creating and applying knowledge to alleviate poverty as well as pursue better lives for marginalized populations (Oxfam, 2013).
