REFLECTION REPORT Name Institution Reflection Report Part I City of Charles Sturt consists of various demographics, most of which concentrate on the improvement or promotion of the health conditions of the society members. During my time while working within the region, I was able to gather substantive information in relation to the social demographics of the region aiming to improve the conditions of the vulnerable society members, thus promotion of the wellbeing of the target audiences. In the first instance, the region has substantive community information. This is through increased community engagement programs, profile, grants, live learning skills, school holiday programs, and community gardening. The objective of these programs is to improve the image and reputation of the city while focusing on exploitation of the community information for the growth and development of the city. In addition, the city has various community centres, which are ideal in the improvement of the health conditions of the city members. Similarly, the local governments have focused on the development of the policies and programs, which are essential in improving the living conditions of the aged and the disable society members in accordance with the demands and expectations of the target audiences. These programs consider utilisation of the available resources to aid improvement of the conditions of the aged and vulnerable members of the community. There are also programs and policies for the volunteering, youths, and other aspects of the community. The programs focus on the provision of quality social and economic, as well as healthcare services to all individuals regardless of their gender and age within the city. Moreover, the approaches are ideal in the improvement or promotion of the health conditions within the society, thus limitation or minimisation of the potential harms, which might affect the society members. ‘Meals on Wheels’ program is an example of such programs aiming to improve the image and health conditions of the vulnerable society members. The program focuses on the provision of safe, healthy, and nutritional food products and services to the aged and vulnerable society members within the region. Part II ‘Meals on Wheels’ come out as one of the largest care programs for the vulnerable society members. It is essential to note that food security describes a condition of need because of the poor health or poverty, which continues to be a concern for various entities within the society. Similarly, millions of seniors tend to have limited income, poor health, and lacks regular care from the various family members. Such individuals have the tendency of relying on home-delivery food programs for utilisation of a balanced diet, as well as a friendly face visiting from time to time. The program is a city council initiative with reference to the case of Charles Sturt. The financing of the program focuses on addressing the health care needs and demands of the various target audiences with the region. The program also gains financial resources and assistance from the various sponsors and the local government, as well as the central government in relation to handling the needs and demands of the various target audiences within the stated community. Lack or absence of this project within the society would lead to various adversities in relation to the health conditions of the target audiences. This is because of the significance of the program towards improving the image and reputation of the community and health care program while eliminating various aspects of detrimental health care programs in accordance with the demands and prospects of the target audiences within the community. I believe that the program provides the perfect platform for the improvement of the health conditions of the elderly on limited income, experiencing poverty conditions, and lacking substantial support from the family members. It is critical for the organisations to aid the operations of such healthcare programs with the intention of limiting the presence of negative health conditions within the society. I also believe that the concept is essential in improving the perception of the outsiders on the health programs within the society, thus appropriate image in relation to utilisation of the financial resources to aid growth and development in the health sector. Part III There are various health promotion principles and interventions, which are essential in the improvement of the image and reputation of the living conditions of the society members in accordance with the healthcare needs and prospects. In the first instance, there is need to promote physical activity and active communities. There is also need to improve the prevention and management of the chronic conditions while promoting sexual health, as well as the societal wellbeing. Effective health promotion intervention should also focus on the promotion of the mental health while focusing on the prevention of injuries, as well as reduction of the use or minimisation of harms from alcohol, tobacco, and other relevant substances. Moreover, it is critical to concentrate on the improvement of access to nutritious, safe, and affordable food. These aspects focus on the development of safe and healthy individuals, workplaces, and communities. Meals on Wheels program is vital in ensuring that the health sector contributes to the improvement of access to nutritious, safe, and affordable food products and services, thus the perfect platform for the improvement of the health conditions of the target audiences within the society or community of interest. From this perspective, it is critical to note that Meals on Wheels, as well as other relevant food insecurity agencies have the tendency of following or adhering to the optimum dietary guidelines aiming at improvement and maintenance of the nutritional standards of the seniors and other vulnerable society members in need of the services. In addition, the program contributes through creation of healthy meals under the influence of the solid protein, vegetable, and complex carbohydrate. For the individuals or seniors with the ability to interact with the service providers, sharing of health meals with friends can be of great significance in relation to the promotion of the health conditions of the target audiences, as well as the wellbeing of the community members. The program also provides the platform for an assurance that someone might be able to check in with his or her loved ones in the course of offering the services to the target audiences. Read More
