"Healthy People 2020 " is a perfect example of a paper on the health system. Enhancing health is the primary essence of nursing practice. Preventing illness before it being reported is better than treatment since the results of the patient are enhanced. In 1990, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services began an initiative to educate the American public regarding health topics to enhance healthier lifestyles and prevent illnesses (Rohmah & Amin, 2020). The initial initiative was known as Healthy People 2000 and has been updated every ten years, with the most recent named Healthy People 2020, to focus on health matters concerning high-risk issues in healthcare.

This paper will outline a teaching plan grounded on a topic from the Healthy People 2020 (HP2020) initiative and will involve a target audience, goals, teaching objectives, and a marketing plan.TopicThe HP2020 topic selected for this health promotion presentation is physical activity. The particular objectives included in the presentation will be: Reduce the proportion of adults who engage in no leisure-time physical activity and increase the proportion of adults who meet current Federal physical activity guidelines for aerobic physical activity and muscle-strengthening activity.

Not engaging in effective physical activity is a recipe for risk factors such as early death, depression, blood pressure, falls, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and breast and colon cancer. However, individuals can engage in aerobic and muscle stretching activities early basing on the recommended guidelines, thus enhancing the levels of physical activity and improving health in the United States of America.Target AudienceThe target audience for this presentation is adults age 23-34 years. This age range is optimal since the existing guidelines project that vigorous aerobic and muscle exercises should be at peak level when an individual turns 23 years.

The African American population, however, is also a target audience since the group has lower levels of engaging in aerobic and muscle stretching activities, higher incident rates, earlier mean age at onset, worse survival rates from early death, depression, blood pressure, falls, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and breast and colon cancer and late-stage presentation, and a higher proportion of illness due to not engaging in aerobic and muscle stretching activities.GoalA goal is the same as an objective in that it is something that the educator tries to attain with their teaching.

However, a goal is expansive than an objective, and the time frame to attain it is long-term, maybe months or more. A potential goal for this health presentation is to minimize the similar to an objective because it is something the educator strives to achieve with the teaching they perform. However, a goal is broader than an objective, and the time-frame to achieve it is long-term, perhaps months or longer down the road. A possible goal for this health presentation project is enhancing the levels of physical activity and improving health in the United States of America.

Learning Domains and ObjectivesLearning is primarily grouped into three types: cognitive (intellectual learning which expands an individual’s knowledge of a subject), affective (attitude and feelings affiliated to a topic), and psychomotor (hands-on skills needed to conduct a task). The type of teaching entailed involved in this project, which is presenting information in a lecture format to a group, is conducive to learning in the cognitive domain.Excellent objectives are precise statements regarding what a learner is anticipated to be in the position to perform after one to a few educational sessions and have to entail the criteria incorporated by Robert Mager of performance, condition, criterion, and who.

Performance entails the action that is anticipated to be done. The condition relates to the circumstances in which the learned action will be measured, such as “after watching the video” or “following the lecture.” Criterion specifies the level or extent of learning that will be measured, such as “name three foods high in vitamin C” as opposed to “name foods high in vitamin C.” Who identifies the person or population that is expected to complete the objectiveCognitive objectives which could be written for this HP2020 topic are:After watching a 20-minute presentation about physical activity, the listener will be able to: List three risk factors for not engaging in physical activity: aerobic and muscle stretching activities and name two types of tests that measure the rate of aerobic and muscle stretching activities (Walker, Tullar, Diamond, Kohl & Amick, 2017)A psychomotor learning objective related to this topic is:After watching a 20-minute presentation about physical activity, the listener will differentiate between recommended guidelines for beginning aerobic and muscle stretching activities for average-risk and above average-risk persons.

Location and Marketing StrategyA perfect location for physical activity on the aerobic and muscle stretching activities would be in the Eastern parts of Virginia. Recent population statistics indicate that the community entails residents majorly adults age 23-35 years and fall in our projected target audience. Potential marketing ideas for the education session would be to collaborate with the event organizer to establish a flyer that could be shared with residents and posted in a central location on event boards within the community.

If the facility has a social media platform, an agent page would be established, and residents invited. The event organizer's recommendations for enhancing the attendance at the session entail facilitating snacks and presenting in the afternoon since reports indicate that the majority of the population wakes up late in the morning.ConclusionThis paper examined the plan for a health promotion project presentation on the HP2020 topic of physical activity, covering the target audience, goal, objectives, and potential marketing strategy.

Educating clients in the community is a vital responsibility the nurse plays since many individuals may not accord themselves access to health data before the onset of illness. Prevention is essential to positive patient results and is the objective of the Healthy People initiative.
