"Counseling For Substance Abuse" is a great example of a paper on addiction. The counseling process for substance addiction for a group is major done through therapy. Group therapy is an indispensable element of effective abuse of substances and treatment of mental illness. The main objective of group therapy is to enhance the reduction of symptoms alongside a recovery in two or more individuals. In group therapy provision, there is always a leader who exhibits professionalism. The professional leader is responsible for conduction therapeutic settings alongside care levels, including hospital-based inpatient programs, residential programs, and outpatient recovery programs. The effectiveness of group therapy in treating substance addiction can also be attributed to the addiction nature of several factors. These factors include; depression, isolation, anxiety, and shame.

Consequently, family therapy in substance addiction is inclusive of the therapist involving the family members of the patient being involved in the therapy process (Hogue, 2001). Family therapy in the cure of substance addiction is useful because it employs the use of strengths and resources of a family to look for techniques that the addicted individual can apply to live without abusing drugs.

Additionally, individual therapy for substance addiction is a kind of therapy described to address both systems and the significant causes of substance abuse. Individual therapy serves as a significant monitor to the individual who is under the substance abuse recovery process. Individual therapy also works towards addressing the past substance addiction, presenting recovery alongside checking on how the client is doing after he/she has undergone therapy.

During the continuing sessions of counseling or therapy, a recovering substance addict patient expects the therapist to incorporate a number of approaches, including; recognition, craving management, inspiration, enthusiasm, and commitment.

Models Goals
Group
• To provide positive peer support to help the substance abuse recovering addicts from abstaining from abusing drugs
• To help the patient by reducing their sense of isolation, a disorder that most the substance abuse addicts experience
• To enhance drug addicts to witness the recovery process of others
Family
• To address the interdependence nature of relationships with family members
• To intervene during complicated relational patterns and change them in techniques that bring in productive and desirable change for the whole family.
Individual
• To help the recovering drug addicts admit that they suffer from an addiction disorder, they need to heal.
• To teach those new strategies that may help them make healthy decisions, such as helping recovering addicts with strategies that may be used whenever they encounter drug cravings.
• To make them create a long-lasting recovery plan, for instance, encouraging the drug addicts to join a recovery group.

Relapse Prevention Plan
Relapse Prevention Plan for Group
An effective plan that can be used to treat substance abuse addicts in a group can involve coming up with a plan whereby each individual in the group is responsible for taking care of one another. If one among them goes back to the old ways of abusing drugs, all of them are made accountable. The members become one another's keeper. They keep reminding each other of the dangers and harms of abusing drugs. Through this technique, it will be difficult for anyone among the group members to backslide.

Relapse Prevention Plan for a Family
This is whereby the family members of the addict come up with ways that can help the patient feel loved and appreciated despite the condition that he/she has. Among the techniques used in the relapse prevention plan for the family includes building a good relationship with the patient, rewarding the patient for good behavior, advising them against substance abuse, encouraging them on the kind of friends that they are supposed to hang around with, and following up strictly to ensure that the patient fully recovers from drug abuse.

Relapse Prevention Plan for Individual
This requires the therapist t keep on putting the patient under-recovery on the check and monitoring him/her and always encouraging and motivating him/her by making the patient know that drugs are not a solution to anything and any person can have a good life without necessarily using drugs. As such, the patients will successfully note the possible triggers and stressors that may take back to the old ways of substance abuse (Melemis, 2020). Most of the individuals recovering from drug addiction have never been taught on possible ways that they can use to note relapse warning signs; they do not note them until the pain becomes too severe to ignore. As such, a recovering addict ought to work closely with the therapist to learn more about addiction, triggers, and stressors and ways that they can use to handle these triggers and stressors.
