"Understanding Obesity in America" is a well-written example of a paper on metabolic problems.
Obesity is having excess fat tissues in the body (James&Larry&John,94); body mass index of above thirty is considered obese, it occurs when food intake is more than the physical activity that uses energy, hence excess food is stored as fat, few cases are caused by the endocrine disorder, psychiatric problems, genes, and medication. America has the highest number of obese people in the world and it is the fastest-growing health problem, in every three people two are overweight. Obesity is the leading preventable cause of death worldwide.

Most obese people suffer from low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression; they lack self-confidence because of their weight making it hard for them to socialize and even ask for help. Obese children do not reach their full potential because they tend not to do so well in school and even bullied by other children. Obesity has many health effects ranging from cancer (Jeri,25), an increase in developing bones and joint problems, heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2-diabetes, and others, these diseases cause approximately three hundred thousand deaths in the United States each year.

Obese people should start living a healthy lifestyle, excising and eating healthy foods. Eating healthy foods might not be easy because of the surrounding, in restaurants and probably at home too, foods might not be the right portion, the solution is strict attention on eating healthy food such as vegetables, fruits, high fiber foods, eat right portions and avoiding high fats. At least thirty minutes of exercise a day is helpful, especially with health professionals trained to support people who want to lose weight. Losing weight will reduce the health risks and restore self-confidence in obese people making their lives a lot better (Stern& Judith& Alexandra, 271).
