"Ethics in Medical Research and Publication" is a perfect example of a paper on medical ethics.  In the recent past, there has been an escalation in the number of people reportedly losing trust in diverse research scientists purporting to conduct some experiments with an aim of improving the lives of populations. Most people are now aware of their rights. Past researchers have gone a long way in violating the rights of the research subjects for their self-gain. The aspect of confidentiality remains vital. However, some researchers end up exposing private and sensitive information to the general public. Informed consent from research subjects remains mandatory prior to conducting any research. However, this has not been put into consideration strictly. The performance of any research should be keen not to violate the ethical aspects of the subjects (Magnus and Benjamin, pg. 2019).

Furthermore, most times, the researchers claim to be conducting scientific researches and appeal for grants from donors, only to present non-existent data, falsify the information collected, abuse other similar publications resulting in plagiarism and involvement of conflict of interests that result in biased findings (Music, Ajla and Smaila, pg. 1079). Several past research cases are symbolic of the research misconducts that dwindle the trust the community has towards scientific researchers. Such researches include Tuskegee Syphilis study, Dick Van and organ transplantation, Andrew Wakefield, and James Wilson.

HIV pandemic has been an issue of concern when it comes to clinical ethics. First, initial testing requires pre and post counseling sessions. Informed consent is vital too. However, many scientists have violated the obligation and proceeds to testing prior to counseling and consent. Sometimes human beings become the subjects to clinical trials tests: such a research design should not be incorporated if it reports an increase in harm among the participants (Mijaljica, pg. 210). The HIV pandemic continues to claim many lives, raising a great challenge to researchers to come up with a long-lasting solution. The World Health Organization has advocated for a critical review in the provision of equitable health care, consistent surveillance, fair policies, and monitoring and evaluation programs while at the same time taking considerations of the clients’ ethics.
