"Organization Structure: Healthcare for Seniors" is a perfect example of a paper on the health system. An organizational structure defines task allocation in an organization for the realization of the organization’s objectives. It is significant because of its effects on an organization’s operations and culture and this paper discusses its aspects in Golden Living Center.

Golden Living Center is an independently owned healthcare facility that offers supportive services for seniors. Its services include rehabilitation services, nursing care, hospice, assisted living, and pharmacy services.

An organizational structure defines how job tasks are formally divided, grouped, and coordinated, defines an organization’s purpose, and helps in leveraging employees (Robbins, & Judges, 2014). The organization is centralized because the proprietor owns and runs the organization by making top decisions. A manager exists to oversee service provision and to ensure that operation is under control. Supervisors also exist to respond to employees’ questions, concerns, or issues. Communication among employees is however strong. Strong vertical communication also exists through surveys and allows employees to participate in decision-making (Langmead, 2012).

I think the organizational structure works well by ensuring proper coordination of the organization’s activities and decisions. This is because even though it is centralized, it allows for significant vertical and horizontal communication. The structure also ensured that staff satisfaction remains high, and employees report feeling appreciated and respected. The organization should therefore retain the structure because of the current success in management from the structure (Langmead, 2012).

The organization might be decentralized in the future. Its potential expansion and increased specialization that is likely to involve specialized technology are likely to influence the change (Langmead, 2012).

Health reform is the external pressure on the company. This is because covers under reforms do not include some of its services and some patients may not be able to finance their care needs. The pressure, therefore, threatened the financial sustainability of the organization (Langmead, 2012).
