"Centers for Disease Control and Prevention" is a great example of a paper on social and family issues. Diversity is an easily identifiable element in society and occurs from different scopes. It may be based on race, economic status, or geographical distribution of a population. There exist a relationship between the different scopes of diversities and people’s health and access to healthcare and I, in this paper, share my experiences in reducing health care disparity.

Health care disparity defines biased opportunities to accessing care facilities and services by different categories of people. I have witnessed, embraced, and tried to influence measures for reducing health care disparity in vain. My efforts, though at low levels in the sector, in exploring health care disparity towards a solution however identified factors to the disparity that can only be resolved by wide scoped approaches from both the government and the society. Some of the barriers to reducing health care disparity are people’s economic status, privatization of the health care sector, and the government’s failure to provide free care services to the poor. These have stratified care services that identify poor services with the poor who cannot afford services from qualified facilities and good care to the rich and the middle class. People’s behaviors and attitudes towards health care are another challenges to reducing care disparity because an individual may fail to access care services because of traditional or religious views. Some populations also fail to access health care because of the geographical distance barrier (CDC 1).

I, therefore, noted that wide scoped approaches such as government initiatives to subsidize care cost in public facilities and to ensure that care facilities are evenly distributed among populations, together with social initiatives to educate people on the benefits of health care, are some of the major initiatives to reducing health care disparities (CDC 1).
