Egypt: Sinai Peninsula attack kills 17 Summary The government has failed the Egyptian’s citizens inproviding permanent solution to terrorist threat even after their public pledge following the recent Sinai killings.Development The 2nd of April attack that killed 17 is the worse in the month recalling that the government had pledged to the international community that such cases would be history and forge to unite the country after a period of insecurities and various acts of terrorists. One can argue that this is due to their failure and lack of commitment to their people.

According to the security sources, the heavily armed militia attacked and killed the 17 with 15 among them being soldiers. Nonetheless, the Egyptian forces with the help of other loyal forces have been fighting a faction linked to the Islamic State extremists in Sinai Province. However scores of innocent civilians have also lost their life in the process this is according to government reports. Citizens and other agencies blame the government for failing to act in time in many cases.AnalysisThrough critical thinking, there is a lot that the government can do that they are not currently doing and have never done.

One is enhancing border security to curb against terrorist majorly fighting on the northern front . This is achievable though proper surveillance and deploying more security personnel. The second approach would be through the government proper use of gathered intelligence and the effective use of community policing. These are the key aspects that when combine can help reduce long term killings since many believe the government has not yet considered the area a real treat yet. Nonetheless it is agreeable that any life is important anyway and should never be lost however the circumstance.
