The underlying objective of this section is to give an overview concept of knowledge management this will be used as a basis for an understanding of PwC in Thailand. Also, the knowledge management processes and the role of information technology (IT) tools to support KM processes will be summarized and the detail will be further elaborated. The underlying objective of this section is to explain the available IT tools that are used in the organizations. This will be used to analyse the IT tools used by PwC Thailand.

The next chapter will deal with the developing an analytical framework based on the existing literature. This will be focused on the factors that influence effective knowledge management. This will help better investigation of the limitation that is faced by the Knowledge Management Systems in the following chapters. The next Chapter will briefly present the methodology adopted in this dissertation. In particular a detailed explanation of the research method, the structure of the questionnaire and limitations of the research are presented.

This chapter helps us understand the reasons why the questions are asked and how it helps answering the objective. Based on the research that is conducted, the findings and the analysis will be provided in the next chapter. This chapter included the data processing and analysis. This will be followed by the conclusion chapter. The part will conclude the content of the dissertation and provide recommendations to help the company overcome barriers of ineffective use of KMS. Furthermore, the dissertation ends with a suggestion for the further research.

This dissertation aims at identifying the factors that create limitations for people to use KMS within the consultancy organization of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Thailand.
