Theodore Roosevelts philosophy of government and the programs of his administration Introduction Among the many presidents that governed America towards the fame and the social status that it stands on right now is that of Theodore Roosevelt. He was rather considered as one of the most remarkable individual who inspired many as he struggled to save America through years of war and turmoil as well as economic downfall during the mid-20th century.1 This is perhaps the reason why people trusted him so much and thus re-elected him for two terms to serve the country’s needs amidst his being disabled. Pictures of Theodore Roosevelt show him as a strong epitome of hope as he sits on his wheelchair. These images have been a long time inspiration to both the normal and disabled individuals in the country. This inspiration rather provided them more than the want to be something or at least someone who is worth the life that they were given, it also pushed them to work harder for their country. This was a very important piece of inspirational motivation to the people during the mid-20th century. Basically, people then were undergoing a huge series of social turmoil given the fact that they were passing through times of economic great depression and that of the second world war, when for so many colonies of imperialist countries such as Spain, America stood to be one of the independent giving bodies who continuously push for the establishment of democracy in the world. Yes, in physical approach, Theodore Roosevelt may have been perceived to be weak, but with the strategic utilization of his mind powers and the cooperation that the American people were readily able to provide him as support to his governance and his administrational platform that he would like to apply not only for the better standing of his own country but also for the recovery of those other government administrations of smaller countries to whom he and his administration has given independence to. 2 Bringing About Hope from the Middle of Great Depression One of the peak issues during Theordore Roosevelt’s Presidency in America was that of the great depression that paved way to huge unemployment issues and less finances to use for the basic needs of the people. Through the establishment of the National Recovery Administration (NRA), President Roosevelt was rather able to create the necessary programs needed to produce a more systematic way of differing the situations of the country from the downfall that it is expected to face as the years of great depression was ready to take part of. The institution of this approach to the great depression provided a more instituting system that gives a chance to lower-end earners to at least find for themselves a better choice of living that they need and kept the capitalists of the economy from pushing the people to the edge of their hopes and simply loosing grasp on the lives that they are supposed to protect through working hard. Everything went at a considerable pace that saved the American society from drowning into the economic downfall that was befalling the nations around the world during the mid-20th century. 4 The Third Term and the Second World War As mentioned earlier, Theodore Roosevelt was the first re-elected President of the United States. The trust that the people of the Americas were ready to give him and the support that they are ready to give him as particular subjects of his administration has created a proper sense of standing on the reasons to why he has been much of a success during his administrational governance. It was during this phase of his governance as a president that he pushed through the ideal role that the Americans played during the Second World War. His stand as a particular person who wanted to create alliance through a non-forceful way paved way to the establishment of the American assistance provided to nations who were under the colonization rule of the Axis powers during those times. The basic identity that America took in the middle of the wars during those times exemplified their role as the alliance to those who are in most need of assistance to resist the emerging power of the second wave of world imperialism. The Theory of Self-Governance The emerging belief on the growth of worldwide democracy has paved way to the recognition of Theodore Roosevelt’s idealism on self-governance. Although he too was recognized as an imperialist, he wanted to do more than just simply pick the nations he would rule over and get finances from unlike that of the system used by imperialists like the Spaniards.5 IT was through this system of governance that the American government prepared to establish self-trust on the nations who have lost their independence to larger countries such as that of the three “Axis” who were trying to control the whole world during the Second World War. 6 It was through this approach of governance that America has formed alliance between them and the nations who owed them the independence that they have received away from the imperialist rulings of Germany, Japan and Italy. America has practically garnered friends and allies from this administrational movement making it easier for President Theodore Roosevelt to establish a particular relationship with the nations they supported from then until these present days. 7 Conclusion Theodore Roosevelt’s idealisms as an economist and an optimist provided him the strength and the strategic approach that he needed to help America and all the other countries survive the tumultuous events of the mid 20th century that engulfed the different countries of the world in turmoil in connection with the war years and the economic depression that everyone was experiencing during the time. His approach to establishing a more institutionalized system of dealing with the issues directly created a particular path that was essential for America’s as well as that of the other country’s survival towards the current years of progress.
