College Transfer Essay I want to attend (new college) because I care about knowledge in-itself, and I realize this is my best opportunity to be around other students, with similar interests, purpose, and goals. I have developed a considerable amount as a result of my time spent at (old college), and I have been brought to new intellectual horizons. I believe in purpose, or at least something that transcends blind allegiance to the dollar, and this belief has taken me beyond my previous concerns scholastic concerns into new realms of academic investigation.

In transferring, I will have the opportunity to explore these interests in an environment more suited to my intellectual interests. I am seeking to become a part of (new college), because I think books and ideas are important, that they can illuminate life, place our priorities in context, and help us recognize poignancy in things others may miss. Because I feel the same idea applies to certain people and I need to find more of them and they need to find me. Because I’m not sure if the unexamined life is worth living, but a day in my life hasn’t passed where I have not examined the question.

And because I can’t find a more exciting place to do it.Although (old college) has expanded my intellectual capabilities, I realize that achieving my goals depends on developing leadership abilities and increasing my social capital. I’m in the height of my youth and I need to seize it, find and celebrate it in others, and not forget for an instant that all things must pass. I always wanted more; more support from a school that would put in the effort to push a step further in its academic curriculum and prepare me to stride towards success.

I am passionate in reaching my goals and I will like to accomplish them under a superior curriculum at (new college).I also believe that my acceptance will contribute to the school’s student population. I have gained a new appreciation for community involvement. As a high school student I became highly involved in my own community through engaging in a variety of volunteer activities. Volunteering is now one of my most enjoyed pursuits, as I sincerely appreciate working with and helping others.

I have a positive and pro-active perspective on life and have always sought out ways to become more involved, helping to contribute to a more vibrant and stimulating environment for students, faculty, and community members alike. Looking ahead on my journey I am intent on making my future life as fruitful and enriching as my past has been. While I believe life is ultimately what one makes of it, I understand the importance of surrounding oneself in a positive and proactive environment. In the (new college’s) community I recognize this environment and am energized by the opportunity to continue my intellectual journey, contribute through helping others, and ultimately thrive.

This is why I am applying to the (new college).
