Like other well-known individuals, Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin started out as ordinary dreamers who wanted much more from life. As young citizens in their own respected areas of birth, Twain and Franklin created their own stepping stones to reach the status of life that they both enjoyed during adulthood. From the autobiographies written by themselves, the life of Twain and Franklin presents a great picture of success strategies to the major readers of the said pieces of written work. To understand how these primary elements of successful living have been presented through the said reading pieces, the following discussion shall show the different aspects of comparison that both writings hold a great understanding of both education and work aspects utilized to attain life’s success.

In the writing of Mark Twain, he naturally uses his childhood history as a primary narration as to how his dreams and aspirations in life primarily began. In Mississippi, life has offered him a great deal of beginning the steps towards his dreams of becoming the best kind of person that he aims to be. To compare, Franklin’s autobiography, on the other hand, he notes that to fulfill his dreams of getting the best opportunity to be known in the field of publishing, he needed to live in his hometown to begin his journey towards success. In this particular aspect of the presentation, the said individuals showed that society has a great contribution to whatever a person turns out to be.

For this particular matter, both autobiographies show the fact that education is supposed to take place both in formal and informal approaches that would be best convenient for the individuals wherever they may be situated. Learning is a continuous process that should never be hindered by distance or opportunities. If learning is surely viewed in this manner, any individual would find every challenge in society as a major opportunity presented to them by life intended to give them the practical training that they will need to face other larger challenges in the future.

Learning never ends. As the experiences of both Twain and Franklin suggest, they never stopped aiming to learn from the changes in life that they had to deal with. It could be noted how both individuals used informal learning to become more competent in their own fields of interest. Through the process of learning that they got, they became the best individuals in their own fields of work. Working has made them more skilled and made them reach their goals successfully implying the best results of work not only for themselves but also for the people living around them.
