Generally, learning disability includes certain kinds of learning in which a person has difficulty in picking up and using certain skills such as reading, writing, reasoning, cognition problems that cause an individual to have a below average learning process. Usually individuals find it hard to recognize alphabets and doing reasoning questions such as solving mathematics sums etc. which is also known as dyslexia. The disability in people varies according to the working of one’s brain. Children with such problems are not lazy and inactive; they usually have average or above average intelligence level.

Kids with dyslexia though, have trouble with phonemic awareness and phonics. Studies have shown that dyslexia occurs because of slight problems in information processing, especially in the language regions of the human brain. For this reason, reading does not become habitual and remains slow and labored. When a child struggles with these beginning steps in reading, comprehension is bound to suffer and frustration is likely to follow. Looking over the past decade in UK, various initiatives have been taken to understand dyslexia and how to deal with people having dyslexia, to know who is suffering from this disease, understanding the cause and how to cope with it.

Teaching pupils with dyslexia is a postgraduate certificate program started by school of health. The key aim of this program is to enable teachers to combine knowledge, develop their understanding to practice theory and to know how to enhance the learning of pupils suffering from special learning difficulties i.e. dyslexia (NU, 2010). Dyslexia is a specific-learning disability that affects an individual’s ability to read and develop strong understanding about his/her own native language.
