Research Method The research method consists of an ethnographic qualitative design and the s are to participate in structured interviews to ascertain their attitudes and perspectives regarding technology use and barriers to use (Remler & Van Ryzin, 2011). The selection includes 30 participants from a population of adults over the age of 65, and comprise of male and female subjects. Seniors will be more productive, effective, and able to perform most tasks on their own without involving the younger generation.

The elderly population will save money from the investment in the learning of computers. Seniors can benefit by learning to do online banking instead of standing in long lines at the bank. Seniors can also sign up for Medicare benefits and make changes online. It is also imperative to consider relative technical understanding of the older generation in regard to technology use as compared to the young people. This will serve as a critical parameter in assessing their level of commitment towards use of technology.

The overall attitude and desire to use technology in their banking activities exhibit a uniform pattern. This is because most of the elderly persons are time conscious and physically vulnerable to fatigue from the traditional banking method. Adoption of online registration and subsequent use of such applications is likely to encourage the older generation to embrace it outside the limits of Medicare services and banking to many other activities like insurance services, online notification from various organizations for which they are membership and air travel bookings.

The chosen sample size is representative of overall technology perception trend among the total population.Significance to Leadership The current research is the growing aging population in this country and the increasing need for access technology leadership believe there is a growing gap (Gilly, 2012). Resistance to computer use by specific age-related segments of the consumer population further fueled the computer literacy debate (Gilly, 2012). Defining the attitudes and perspectives of an aging population in regards to their understanding of accessing technology can address foundational problems.

The study integrates an ethnographic qualitative view to change leadership perspective to foster improvements in technology for the aging populations (McMurtrey, 2011). The increasing technological advancement which surpasses the rate of familiarity with the aged population is one major challenge. This means a significant technology acquisition time lag which is wide between the young generation and the older people. Conservative behavior which is common among the elderly segment of the consumer population brings in significant challenges in embracing of computer applications literacy.

In this respect, a strategic leadership approach is critical in changing the perception and mobilizing the elderly to pursue computer literacy as the primary path to online services. In this regard, the role of leadership is paramount as it boosts the target population to see the need for embracing modern technology in daily services (Cabrera & Malanowski, 2009). Corporate leaders and the government authorities need to take the campaign to the elderly in an effort to promote efficiency in service delivery.

This may be achieved through offering user-friendly applications that captures the age factor among the older population.Review of Relevant ScholarshipThe current literature review includes a summary of live interviews, phone call interviews, and video calls interviews using Skype of which the interview will be well structured. The researcher will interview the seniors citizens (age 65 above) as mentioned there above. The main advantage of this method is that the researcher will be able to get reliable information since direct interactions give room for verifying the credibility of the respondent.

A secondary method of data collection like researching in the Internet databases (ProQuest, EBSCOhost, and Google Scholar) and by reading written e-books, reading journals, as well as going through previously carried out studies on this topic. The researcher will ensure that the collected data is from reliable and credible sources so that the conclusion of the research can be used for future reference or can be cited on matters relating to this topic.Past literature that is derived from secondary sources is subject to intense scrutiny as it may be inadequate to explain the trend against the fast changing technology environment.

It would also be important to compare and contrast the secondary sources of information in the built up to literature review. Evaluation of the validity of the secondary data would strengthen the supportive evidence towards the observed resistance and attitude of the older population technology (Wright, Sparks & Hair, 2012). Primary sources of data which is basically oral interview will provide the best results for making up to date factors that explain the trend of the elderly perception towards online communication technology (In Gil-Pechuán, 2013).

A blend of the primary and secondary data will give a more reliable and adequate facts and figures that would help close the information gap that has always called for further research. Accurate referencing will be important in development of literature review towards this subject.ReferencesIn Gil-Pechuán, I. (2013).
