The Sprit Catches You and You Fall Down al Affiliation) Discussion At the end of chapter 18, Waller Sukey asks a questionconcerning the level of importance between Life and Soul (Fadiman 2002). However, there are various views and perceptions that may rise among different people interpreting this issue. On a personal opinion, life is more important that soul. Evaluating this question on a biological perspective, one would assert that life is more important than soul. Biology and other sciences have proved the existence of life; on the other hand, soul the existence of soul is a theoretical perspective of life that is usually exhibited in religious and philosophical facets.

That is, the existence of soul has not been proved. In addition, life entails myriad crucial facets for example; life entails the aspect of being healthy physically, emotionally and psychologically. In this regard, life facilitates the proper human body functioning. The pertinence of soul has not been proved in any case; it importance is based on the theoretical view it is a form of life that exists in after life or eternal life. ConclusionThe argument with regard to the importance of life relies heavily on one’s belief for example; a person who believes in biological explanation of life may tend to argue that life is more important owing to the fact that it has been confirmed by scientific research.

On the other hand, people with more belief on religious and philosophical beliefs may tend to argue that life and soul may have similar values. Taking these factors into consideration, it is evident that the perception of the importance of life and soul varies from one person to another. However, from my personal analysis and understating, life is more important than the soul.ReferenceFadiman, A. (2002). Spirit catches you and you fall down. New York: United States : Farrar Straus and Giroux.
