CALLISTA ROY THEORY: A STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF NURSING MODELS Summary Article one Roy adaptation model has beenemployed in guiding independent studies directed towards enhancing understanding of the advancement in information on how adults adapts to prospective health issues. A review of different findings based on the model advanced by Roy has helped in the promotion of logical postulates that have aided in conducting clinical trials and solutions (Roy, 2014, p. 22). Though the models used in nursing have acted as a basis for explaining the mechanisms through which human respond to the environment, the development of the models has stagnated due to inadequacy in improvement in ideas.

The Roy model has significantly enhanced the information needed in advancing the world health (Roy, 2014, p. 27).While working together, a group of research personnel, formerly using Roy model in their independent works, joined to form a Boston Based Adaptation Research in Nursing Society. Apart from employing Roy model in enhancing the nursing exercise, the society has played a vital role in creating avenues for exchange of research findings that helps in the development of the expertise in scientific nursing.

A 1990 study developed by Moody was aimed at enhancing the development in creating a system of information that would cause a positive change in the nursing exercise. In the study, nine systematic stages were proposed as a way of making analysis and acquiring conclusive results (Roy, 2014, p. 32).The following year, an independent research was conducted to determine the outcome of a designed engagement. It was found that the independent studies showed similarities in results over a range of study factors categorized as stimuli, control, and adaptation mechanisms.

The studies helped in realizing the vital usefulness of increasing the strength of stimuli, and how addition of critical control factors may enhance the general process of intervention. Summary of Article Two A new study was developed to determine the results of the coping methods of people released from the intensive care unit. A non-complex sampling method was used to randomly sample the subjects. Information was collected over a varied range of demographic data. Analysis of the results of the findings showed some relevant association between the emotional bond of attraction between individuals’ and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation results.

The patients who are severely ill, and are experiencing emotional and physical feelings provides a basis for excellence of care in intensive care unit (Kaya, 2011). Apart from physically instigated responses, the patient may be affected by the emotional problems and stress occurring from the environment. Postulations on the origin of the attachment have been advanced through studies conducted by different individuals. While some theorists have defined attachment as the ability of human to develop strong feelings towards others, others have defined attachment depending on a broad range of factors (Kaya, 2011).

A hypothesis devised by independent theorists suggests that people who feel safe are known to experience overall ease while in the company of others. On the hand, individuals who dread others will reduce contact with others. The ability of people to relate and associate with others may be affected by environmental and social issues. Researchers have maintained assertions on advancing an idea that the bond of attraction between a person and others be used while making assessment on the behavioral characteristics of the patient.

Still, an independent research aimed at determining the effects of the types of bond of attraction between individuals, showed that ICU is essential in providing patient care. The lack of attachment of a person in the ICU setting may deter the general process of treatment. Author’s View According the author, the attraction that one would develop while under nursing care is important in administering nursing care. The different studies conducted have helped in gaining in insight in understanding the factors that improves the nursing process.

The author has employed critically methods of analyzing the information acquired from the study. Metaparadigm Roy concepts have been used in reaching conclusive results while studying the relationship between attachment and the general medical outcome over a range of demographic factors such as adaptation, the environment and the individual used as a subject of study.
