In this essay, I will develop an ongoing monitoring system and also evaluate the outcomes of the system. I will integrate nursing leadership concepts and theories in a number of roles and responsibilities of professional registered nurses to enhance safety alongside ensuring quality nursing care. Moreover, I will develop the system by constructing an effective plan to implement and evaluate evidenced-based quality enhancement projects that are designed to enhance patient care outcomes. Further, I shall examine how the business principle is applied to manage patient care efficiently in complex and diverse healthcare settings. The paper will thus help utilize the leadership concepts and theories appropriate to nursing leadership to develop the quality enhancement of the ongoing project. Ultimately, the outcome will help design effective strategies and disseminate the findings arising from the evidence-based quality improvement projects with respect to the inter-professional team to enhance change in nursing practice.

The roles of professional registered nurses can only be promoted through an effective integration of the relevant concepts and theories to ensure quality nursing care. There should be a shared leadership style applicable throughout the nursing practice to enhance safety and high-quality outcomes (Fralic, 2011). The nursing practice is a diverse phenomenon whereby there are various levels of roles set in a hierarchical manner. Nursing care, therefore, is framed in a number of relationships that require unquestioned leadership for its efficient operationalization. For example, care-worker-district nurse/nurse/lead nurse/therapist, care worker-doctors, and care worker and co-worker. Moreover, there are other relationships such as care-worker-Key worker, care worker-senior care worker/Nurse/Lead Nurse, as well as care worker-service user. All these relationships are attached to different roles that must be properly integrated for efficient operationalization.

Nursing Leaders are therefore defined by their patterns of relating and the outcomes of their decisions. Therefore, leadership in nursing must integrate all these roles in a manner that promotes teamwork and reduces the overlapping of roles but promotes safety and high-quality services. Moreover, we all always live with both foreseen and unforeseen consequences of shared decisions made by leaders that affect the community within which the nurses operate. Therefore, leaders must always bring to their leadership roles distinct from human beings as well as diversities of their lived experience (McSherry et al. 2012). Leaders must always be furnished with a particular portfolio of proficiencies. Such proficiencies assist the nurses to counteract complex challenges. The nurse must focus on the development of relevant attitudes via social learning to be proficient leaders. Nursing leadership must showcase a higher degree of understanding and participation as well as the ability to balance authenticity and performance expectations alongside effective decision-making processes. Thus, it is inevitable for nurse leaders to promote their accessibility, listen as well, and respond to staff and patient concerns efficiently.

Frequent access to nurse leaders is imperative to have a significant effect on the workplace culture that outlines how individuals and teams execute. Therefore, nursing leaders have to undertake all their roles from consultation to diagnosis through an improved approachability to propel the possibility of the partnership between clinicians and leaders that ultimately empty into superior client outcomes. The business principle that advocates for the interest of their customers helps the nurses to imitate the same ideas by ensuring that the interest of the patients is prioritized and hence promotes safety and high-quality care. Also, the business has a profit of minimizing costs to maximize profits. Such a principle is also utilized by the nurses whereby they advocate for preventive measures rather than the costly curative measures to cut down on the costs but produce effective proactive interventions that help ensure the safety of patients culminating in higher quality care (Carter et al. 2010). Thirdly, the business principle of producing quality goods is applicable in nursing care where quality services are offered to the patients to promote safety and quality care.

Therefore, patient’s trust will be assured and they will be able to communicate their problems and cooperate with the nurses to ensure enhanced care and safety of the atients. Hence, a plan to implement and evaluate evidenced-based quality enhancement projects that are designed to promote patient care outcomes will include: Ensuring that all the role relationships mentioned are honored by creating a conducive environment whereby the roles do not overlap but promote teamwork. Further, the nurse leaders must design the roles in a manner that people assigned to such positions precisely understand to ensure that all the roles are evidence-based informed. Moreover, the nurse leadership must practice as per the guidelines outlined that are strictly research-informed.
