The nursing profession involves assisting individuals at their time of need when they are vulnerable. A nurse is thus required to dedicate his/her time entirely to patient care, thus making the patients comfortable. Therefore, nursing as a profession came naturally to me since I was a young girl growing up in my community. My desire to help other people developed through several interactions performed by nurses around different areas.

Nursing requires some attributes by an individual to ensure that assigned duties are performed to exact specifications. The role of a nurse involves preventing diseases, promoting health in patients, and assisting in coping with different illnesses. As a professional career, nurses are expected to offer their services when required without any form of discrimination and to the best of their abilities. Furthermore, nurses require patience, empathy, commitment, and communication skills. These ensure that, as a nurse, all attention would be put into the well-being of the patient. These are qualities that I possess, hence I would fit in appropriately into nursing.

Furthermore, I am willing to follow the set code of conduct that governs the nursing practice to ensure that necessary procedures are taken accordingly. The health of every individual under my care would get my utmost attention since my main goal would be preserving life. Therefore, all necessary measures and guidance from doctors will be taken into consideration to ensure that patients can experience the best care and comfort at their weakest points. Ethical and moral considerations may come up in some situations that would require proper thought before making certain decisions, hence I believe that I can make the right choices when faced with such scenarios. Making sound decisions in addition to following guidelines and procedures will ensure that the patient, their family, and the community are protected.

More so, I have the required dedication and determination required to work as a nurse. Being a nurse is physically demanding and tiresome with the long hours needed under different shifts in a hospital setting. Furthermore, the nursing profession also puts individuals at risk of contracting infectious diseases and exposure to hazardous components and materials. The onset of the coronavirus epidemic plaguing the entire world has shown the risk that nursing professionals face in the line of duty. However, this serves as motivation for me to work on the front lines to assist individuals in overcoming these challenges. Following protocols required and approved for such a situation ensures that a nurse will be reasonably protected. Therefore, my dream of becoming a nurse persists as I strive to serve and assist people in need.

Therefore, I am optimistic about achieving my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse and providing the required services. I have done various research to determine the functions of nurses and their requirements to understand the profession better. Furthermore, I have the required drive, determination, and attributes that would make me a potential nurse. By understanding the risks involved in practicing the nursing profession, I believe that my desire to join the profession is still intact. I hope that I will be able to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse hence dedicating my life to ensure that patients receive quality care.
