"Influencing Social Change " is a great example of a paper on care. Nurses have a broad role in social psychiatry. The role entails building a conservative character focused on mental health promotion, inhibition, recognition, and handling of the illness. The nurses are tactically situated and exclusively prepared with strategies that help them become social agents for psychiatric mental health. They are prepared to take on the challenge as they have long recognized the universal nature of the people and societies. They are sensitive to interrelationships and participate in finding solutions to the current community challenges. Psychiatric nurses believe that families have a right to seek medical solutions (Flaskerud, 2018). They are profound to the interrelationship of social expectancy and dysfunctional behavior.

Through the psychiatric nurses' stretched role, they have taken up the responsibility to play the part of social change agents, transform the society, act as family advocates, act as defenders for the minorities, and initiate mental health care. They play a significant role in health care through campaigns and conservation of mental health, disease recognition, and health reestablishment (Townsend & Morgan, 2017). They mainly focus on teaching society as a strategy to create awareness for a broader population. They provide a vital and holistic link to the provision of enhanced mental health care.

They play a significant role in helping the patient’s pilot successfully over the mental health care scheme. They help the patients shift from hospitalization to the public setting. The nurse practitioners focus on the outpatient setting as a critical component towards an affirmative and progressive mental health care, as a longitudinal management plan. They ensure that they provide the essential services as the patients are more likely to comply with the treatment if services are provided and established through the transitional process.

They also educate families and the patients as they have advanced knowledge and clinical expertise to identify signs and symptoms of a prospective relapse (Spear, 2016). They mediate with the crisis management practices to help keep the patient from hospitalization. The nurses help achieve mental wellness and support their adherence to treatment by offering psychological support and connecting the patients to amenities in the community. Their support helps protects them from the mental health stigma that operates in society.

The nurses also play the role of advocating by providing alternative approaches to help meet the patient’s needs in a community setting. The approaches are intended to reduce the care cost but maintain the quality of care. The nurses help the patient and the family overcome the possible challenge of stigmatization and discrimination as the patient may be under medication to maintain stability even after being discharged from the hospital. They help change the perception of mental illness as violent and dangerous and encourage fair treatment. The practitioner nurses help in emphasizing collaborative care with the patient, the civic allies, and the point of caregivers towards improving mental health results on the unique population.

Also, psychiatric nurse practitioners are equipped to serve as advocates by voicing the needs of their patients through a variety of levels. Through these levels, they can improve psychiatric treatments and create better treatment plans for their patients. They advocate for their patients within healthcare by fostering collaborations and issuing essential info in the decision-making process. In the community setting, the nurses can provide the community with the essential info concerning the healthcare programs, the costs, and providing expertise in public forums concerning the expansion of psychiatric community health care infrastructure.
