Researchers have conducted quite a significant number of studies regarding this medical issue, but the results have not been readily available to numerous nurses due to the lack of strategic resources for accessing research findings. Lack of access to research finding has compromised the integration of evidence-based practice in the field of nursing.
Researchers bear the ethical obligation of ensuring that their research findings are disseminated to all relevant stakeholders, including research participants. In order to devise effective dissemination strategies, the research team first of all developed a dissemination plan. This dissemination plan must be made in the first stages of the research study and incorporated into it. In designing the dissemination plan, the researcher must consider four crucial factors. These include the goals of the dissemination effort, the target group of primary care nurses who bear interest in evidence-based practice, the medium through which to reach the target audience, and the execution process of the dissemination plan.
The primary group of stakeholders who bear the greatest need of accessing the research finding is primary care nurses. The goal of the dissemination effort is to ensure that as many primary care nurses as possible access the research results in order to use the information to foster evidence-based practice.
