Paramedic assessment Bruit Bruit is a turbulent flow of blood made when blood is obstructed in its normal flow. Auscultation of the artery is a common means by paramedics in an identification of the condition (Edwards 2011, pp. 79). Bruit can be associated with multivariate conditions including anemia, atherosclerosis, stenosis of the artery, aortic aneurism and coarctation of the aorta among other conditions. Auscultation of the vascular sounds detects a bruit. In itself, a bruit is a symptom of a vascular disease that triggers alert among the health care practitioners of an impending danger to other organs supplied by the narrowed vessel.

This results to the sound made by the blood as it forces its way through the vessel (Campbell, 2005, pp. 595).Explain how the topic is caused or linked with the disease (if this is known) Narrowing of the blood vessels resulting in bruits could be a manifestation of high cholesterol deposits in the vessels thus inhibiting the proper flow of blood. Bruit could equally result from a generalized narrowing of all arteries in the body or because of narrowing of a specific blood vessel. Thinning of individual vessel is prominent especially when it involves a major vessel (Hui, 2011, pp. 60). In the event of a bruit, there is a resultant inhibition of flow of blood to some of the vital organs of the body.

Blockage of blood supply to organs like the brain, the kidneys, heart and the liver could result in a permanent damage to the system or even death (Aboyans & Lacroix 2008, pp. 1554).Provide an argument about the relevance of this feature to paramedic care According to Evans et al. (2013, pp. 594), Paramedics have a crucial role to play in the event of a bruit, as the condition is very significant to the profession. Due to the potentiality of the conditions resulting to a bruit causing a sudden death, paramedics must be vigilant in providing interventions like delivery of oxygen to patients experiencing bruits with the aim of providing maximum supply of oxygen to tissues and organs.

Bruit demonstrates the significance of collaboration with other health care providers in giving a timely transfer of the patients to specialized care centers providing treatment for a condition resulting to a bruit (Mohler, 2006, pp. 224).ReferencesAboyans, V. & Lacroix, P., 2008.
