Traditional attempts at censorship were against pornography on the Internet. Nevertheless, some conservative organisations in the 21st century have levelled their sites at an emerging well-liked target- online gambling; sustained mainly by leaders of the community from gambling regulations as well as the gaming industry itself, these organisations dispute that online gambling is unmonitored, unregulated, powerfully deceitful, implementation backward and largely accessible to minors. They argue that the complete accessibility of online connections will result in a boost in problematic gambling addiction, youth involvement and unlawful betting.

While their disputes have some good points, present legislation is incapable to deal with the legitimacy of online gambling, and it is indefinite whether long-established regulations are relevant. Moreover, jurisdictional statutes are debatable, as numerous sites operate in locations that support such engagements (1). However, nowadays the issue of gambling, whether online or not, have taken a different stance aside from its jurisdictional aspects. The field of social psychology has in the advent of 21st century tackled gambling as a potentially important and remarkable area of study for several reasons.

Primarily, gambling activities are more widespread at present because of the emergence of advanced technology in communication such as the Internet; the boost in legalized forms of gambling such as jai alai, casino gambling and currently online gambling testifies how widespread the amusement is.
